Abstract: A sandal strap reinforcement apparatus which is incorporated into a sandal having a multi-hardness midsole to reinforce the opening around the straps. The apparatus is molded into the midsole and serves to protect the hole or slot from damage from a strap inserted through the hole or slot.

Abstract: A midsole for an article of footwear including a three dimensional mesh including interconnected unit cells and methods of making the same. The interconnected unit cells each include a plurality of struts defining a three dimensional shape. The interconnected unit cells are connected at nodes having a valence number defined by the number of struts connected at that node. The valence number of the nodes may vary to provide customized characteristics to zones or portions of the midsole. The plurality of interconnected unit cells may be organized in a warped cubic lattice structure. The warped cubic lattice structure and the size/shape of interconnected unit cells may vary to provide customized characteristics to zones or portions of the midsole. The three dimensional mesh may be customized based on a biometric data profile for an individual, or group of individuals. The midsole may be manufactured using an additive manufacturing process.

Abstract: A tilt resistor is interposed between shoulder pads or other torso support structures and a helmet. The helmet is coupled to one side of the tilt resistor and the torso support is coupled to another side of the tilt resistor. The tilt resistor acts as a pivot joint allowing the helmet to tilt about a horizontal lateral axis relative to the torso support. An acceleration sensor associated with the tilt resistor locks the tilt resistor so that the helmet stops tilting when tilting acceleration sensed by the accelerometer is greater than a desired maximum amount. The tilt resistor is coupled to the torso support, preferably through a collar, which allows rotation of the tilt resistor about a vertical axis. Stops are provided to limit both rotation about a vertical axis and tilting motion within limited ranges that are preferably adjustable.

An outsole is attached to the midsole to form a shell having a sidewall that extends along the medial side around the heel portion and along at least part of the lateral side, where the sidewall extends along the upper to a point above a top surface of the footbed. The extension of the sidewall above the footbed provides medial and lateral stability to a wearer's foot and also aligns the foot in the article of footwear.

Abstract: A man's briefs have a torso encircling member which consists of a front portion and a rear portion, an elastic waist band portion disposed at the top of the torso encircling member, and a genitalia receiving compartment formed by a midsection of the front portion and a strip of fabric associated with the inside of the front portion. The strip of fabric is coupled to the front portion so that the strip is oriented parallel to the front portion. The strip has two top ends connecting to the waist band portion, and a bottom section extending downwardly to loop around the bottom of scrotum of the wearer. The strip of fabric has a curved narrow opening for receiving the genitalia, and may have no seam binding at the edge of the opening.
