More particularly, the present invention relates to a technology of performing monitoring on demand for a complex IT system. According to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided a method of system monitoring that includes: monitoring a performance parameter of a client of the system, determining, based on the performance parameter of the client, whether to monitor a service endpoint directly called by the client, locating the service endpoint to be monitored in response to a determination to monitor the service endpoint directly called by the client, and monitoring a performance parameter of the service endpoint.

The first set of device capabilities include one or more device capabilities. A description of the first set of device capabilities is provided to a remote source, and a first device profile identifier is received from the remote source. The first device profile identifier is associated with the first set of device capabilities. The first device profile identifier is stored on the electronic device, and the received first device profile identifier is included in a communication to the remote source.

Abstract: An alternate access mechanism provides reduced cost Internet access using a streamlined sign-on procedure. The alternate access mechanism employs a specialized access medium including an array of nodes interconnected back to a trunk line access point. The trunk line access point allows greatly reduced cost because of competitive access to the Internet backbone. The interconnected nodes include readily available components, such as wireless routers, microwave radios, and routers, and/or integrated versions thereof which leverage close proximity to adjacent nodes for establishing a path back to the trunk line access point.

Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments of systems and methods for content notification. For example, in some embodiments, a method includes the step of storing a network page in a memory in a client computing device. The network page includes a list of item representations associated with a plurality of items. Each item representation is associated with a respective one of the items. The method further includes the step of rendering the network page using the client computing device. The network page includes a content notification component in a visible portion, and the content notification component is visible in a viewport. The content notification component provides notification to a user of at least one non-visible portion of the network page.

Abstract: A system provisions an electronic mail (email) account of a user for allowing access to an electronic mailbox from a remote device to retrieve email. A communications module receives email address parameters of the user and transmits a domain name system (DNS) query to the Internet for returning mail exchange (MX) records corresponding to the email address parameters of the user. A configuration module processes any returned MX records as a starting point for determining configuration parameters for accessing the email account of the user to retrieve user email.

Abstract: The capability to limit the number of user redirects for a third-party content provider or third-party content provider network, such as, for example, an advertiser or advertising network, is provided. Such a capability extends the functionality of an attribute of a HyperText Markup Language (HTML) element to establish a limit to the number of user redirects. Accordingly, such a limit can be used to enforce restrictions on the number of user redirects through a user's web browser.
