Patent number: 5867882Abstract: An apparatus and process for the manufacture of silk-screens is provided for use in the printing of halftones, e.g. in a four color printing process. The angle at which the mesh of a silk-screen should be relative to the screen frame to eliminate or at least minimize or localize moire' is predetermined for each of the color film separations. This angle is then carried to stretching apparatus for the woven fabric from which the silk-screens are to be made. The stretching appararatus has a table that is provided with a plurality of rotatable members. A screen frame is placed on each of the rotatable members and the rotable member is rotated to the angle determined by the pre-registration apparatus. The fabric is stretched to the desired tension and the screen frames having been provided at the desired angles are adhered to the stretched fabric, resulting in the mesh in each silk-screen being at the correct angle with respect to the screen frame.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 1996Date of Patent: February 9, 1999Assignee: Autoroll Machine Company, LLCInventors: William M. Patent number: 5852858Abstract: A non-toxic highly frangible training round bullet, and a method of making same, in which a plurality of segments of non-toxic metal selected from a group including zinc, iron, steel and copper are grouped or arranged within pressure-molding equipment and sufficient pressure is applied thereto to cause such segments to inter-engage and cohere, one to another, while being formed into a desired shape of bullet and retaining their individuality at least to a limited extent. Upon impact with a target, such a bullet fragments to a large extent along at least some of the original physical boundary lines of the original segments into new segments which are relatively small as compared to the size of the original segments. There is no substantial ricocheting or "bounce-back" activity associated with such fragmentation and, of course, there are no toxic effects.Type: GrantFiled: December 30, 1996Date of Patent: December 29, 1998Assignee: Federal-Hoffman Inc.Inventors: John M. Patent number: 5819387Abstract: A reusable plug device for providing sealing of an opening of a rim of a wheel for leak testing has a simple structure and facilitates installation/removal of the plug device using a simple insertion tool and a removal tool. The plug body has an axially extending cavity for receiving the insertion tool to enable the plug body to be inserted until a flange section of the plug body abuts the surface of the workpiece. The flange section serves as a stopper to indicate the stop position and ensures a uniform installation of the plug device in each workpiece. For removal of the plug body, the removal tool is inserted into the cavity and the removal tool is pushed in the insertion direction, so that the plug body and the flange section both collapse inward into the cavity to enable the plug device to be simply pushed out through the opening section.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 1996Date of Patent: October 13, 1998Assignee: Yamaha CorporationInventors: Akifumi Inoue, Yuzo Ota

Patent number: 5802693Abstract: A refuse container adapted for automated dumping operation comprises a pair of side-by-side container bodies joined along a portion of their respective rims by a connecting web and rigidly integrated with one another by upper and lower lifter bars affixed transversely to each container body in disposition to be engageable by grasping members of an automated dumping apparatus. The refuse container is advantageously fabricated by a method wherein a unitary hollow container structure is blow molded to initially form the two container bodies in tandem end-to-end mirror-image relation joined by a continuous annular connecting portion. The connecting portion is partially removed at each rim, leaving the connecting web therebetween, whereby the two container bodies may be pivoted into side-by-side relation and rigidly joined by affixation of the upper and lower lifter bars. A hinged lid may be pivotably connected to the container proximate the connecting web. The lid will selectively cover either container body.Type: GrantFiled: January 24, 1997Date of Patent: September 8, 1998Assignee: Compagnie Plastic OmniumInventor: Norman C. Lee

Patent number: 5785355Abstract: The present invention is directed to a card structure which is a single unit phone card assembly which provides an area to provide variable information which will maintain the variable information in a hidden area until the information is exposed by the removal of an overlamination and allow the card to be detached to be used as a phone card. The phone card is comprised of two layers of material upon which a variable image printed message is applied. A pattern of silicone is positioned on the face of the top sheet and a pattern of varnish is positioned on the bottom of the top sheet. Adhesive is then used on the face of the base sheet and the sheets are slit and crossed over and laminated together. A series of die cuts and laminations are done to finish the card and extra material is stripped away. In use, the consumer will receive the card as a single unit and peel away the overlamination in order to remove the card to reveal the necessary information to make the telephone call.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 1996Date of Patent: July 28, 1998Assignee: KoBel, Inc.Inventor: George W.
