  • Patent number: 9924134
Abstract: An image rendering unit (IRU) of a device determines the dynamic frame rate capabilities (DFRCs) of a display and an image frame rate of content to be displayed. Preferably, the DFRCs are stored in a storage device deployed within the display itself. Based on the DFRCs and the image frame rate for the content, the IRU determines an updated frame rate and thereafter provides the content to the display at the updated frame rate. Where control of power consumption is desired, selection of a reduced frame rate can effect a power savings. In this manner, the present invention provides flexible control over display frame rates and/or power consumption of the device.

  • Patent number: 9911228
Abstract: Geometric correction of rough wireframe models derived from photographs may include rectification of either a 2D or 3D original wireframe model of a roof structure, derivation of metadata from the original wireframe, in-plane normalization of the wireframe, extrusion into a “rough” 3D wireframe based on the normalized wireframe, and correction of the “rough” 3D wireframe. The correction and normalization may be an iterative process based on initial pitch values, metadata derived from the original or corrected wireframe models and defined constraints regarding relationships between roof portions or segments. The iterative process may repeat adjusting the wireframe model until the adjusting converges to a stable state according to the various defined constraints.

  • Patent number: 9880707
Abstract: Methods and system pertaining to displaying vehicle data parameters (VDP) are described. A vehicle service tool (VST) with a display can receive vehicle data messages or signals from a vehicle to receive the VDP. Some of the VDP can be associated with a PID. The VST can display VDP thresholds and indicators when a received VDP has breached a VDP threshold. The VST can determine being changed from a landscape orientation to a portrait orientation or vice versa and responsively change the presentation of VDP graphs displayed by the display. The display can receive various inputs such as a drag-and-drop or pinch-and-expand input to alternatively change the presentation of the VDP graphs being displayed. Changing a VDP presentation of graphs can include resizing or repositioning one or more VDP graph windows including a VDP graph.

  • Patent number: 9830717
Abstract: Techniques for non-destructive automatic face-aware vignettes are described. In implementations, a request is received to generate a vignette for an image that includes face(s) or other salient object(s) or a combination faces and salient objects displayed in the image. Based on the request, a boundary can be determined that encloses the face(s) or other salient object(s) or both. Using the boundary, one or more parameters of the vignette are automatically modified to customize the vignette based on the face(s) or other salient object(s) or both displayed in the image. Then, a customized version of the vignette can be generated for the image based on the modified parameters.

  • Patent number: 9779475
Abstract: A method and a mobile device to display a specific image at the highest layer of a screen are provided. The mobile device displays moving images at a first region of a screen and, if an event to perform a function in a second region of the screen is received, determines a second region for displaying a specific image associated with the event. The mobile device determines whether the second region is overlapped with the first region. If the second region is overlapped with the first region, the mobile device determines a third region not overlapped with the second region. Thereafter, the mobile device displays the specific image at the second region and displays the moving images at the third region.
