Abstract: A member has a transverse cross section that includes a top sheet, upper ridgelines, vertical walls, lower ridgelines, and floor flanges and includes, on at least one end portions in the extending directions of the upper ridgelines, a top sheet flange via a top sheet ridgeline and vertical wall flanges via vertical wall ridgelines, in which the vertical wall flange and the floor flange are continuous. In end portions of the upper ridgelines and the lower ridgelines, the sum total?R of the radii of curvature of corner portions of the vertical walls and the sum total?L of the widths of the top sheet and the vertical walls in an end portion of the member have the relation of?R/?L?0.13.
Abstract: A composite component for a motor vehicle includes a first section; and a second section connected to the first section. The first section comprises a metallic material. The second section comprises a plastic. The first section has a first base region and projections provided on the first base region, wherein the projections provided on the first base region extend from the first base region to the second section. The projections provided on the first base region have undercuts, and the projections provided on the first base region are anchored in the second section in order to bring about the connection between the first section and the second section.

Abstract: Elastomeric materials and articles of manufacture produced using elastomeric materials are disclosed. In an embodiment, a rubber-based elastomeric material includes a diene rubber component, a reinforcing component, and a wax component. The rubber-based elastomeric material is provided in the form of a film having a thickness of at least about 30 mils. The film exhibits a flexural modulus of less than about 0.06 MPa.
Abstract: A composite structure is provided. The structure includes at least one ply of preimpregnated material formed into a curved elongated member of continuous fibers onto a mandrel. The fibers have a select orientation. The curved elongated member has a length and a cross-sectional geometry that varies along the length.

Abstract: Described herein are coated glass or glass-ceramic articles having improved smudge resistance. Further described are methods of making and using the improved articles. The coated articles generally include a glass or glass-ceramic substrate and an oleophilic coating disposed thereon. The oleophilic coating is not a free-standing adhesive film, but a coating that is formed on or over the glass or glass-ceramic substrate.

Abstract: The present invention provides a hard coat film in which the generation of interference fringes can be reliably prevented. The hard coat film 1 of the present invention includes a transparent film 2 and a hard coat layer 3 provided on the transparent film 2, wherein an interface 5 that can be detected to form by a reflection spectrum analysis exists between the transparent film 2 and the hard coat layer 3, and a refractive index continuously varies in the thickness direction in a region 31 from the interface 5 to a thickness-wise middle part of the hard coat layer 3 without forming an interface that can be detected by the reflection spectrum analysis.
Abstract: A structured surface articles such as molds or sheeting are formed on a compound substrate including a machined substrate and a replicated substrate. In one embodiment, the structured surface is a cube corner element on a compound substrate. In another embodiment, the structured surface is a geometric structure that has a plurality of faces, where one face is located on the machined substrate and another face is located on the replicated substrate. In yet another embodiment, at least some of the faces include a compound face with a portion formed on the machined substrate and a portion formed on the replicated substrate.
Abstract: A touch panel includes a substrate, a transparent conductive layer, a conductive decoration pad, a decoration layer and an opaque conductive layer. The transparent conductive layer is disposed on the substrate, and the conductive decoration pad is disposed on the transparent conductive layer. The decoration layer is disposed on the conductive decoration pad and the transparent conductive layer, and has an opening located on the conductive decoration pad. The opaque conductive layer is disposed on the decoration layer and electrically connected with the transparent conductive layer through the opening and the conductive decoration pad.
