  • Patent number: 7121356
Abstract: A “sod saver” tool for digging to acquire an object buried in the ground, and a non-metallic scraping tool utilized when carefully examining the soil. The sod saver tool includes a main cylindrical body rotated about its longitudinal axis for digging a substantially cylindrical plug of soil from the ground, the object being contained in the plug of soil, and a plurality of circumferentially-disposed resilient non-metallic fingers located at a bottom portion of the main cylindrical body. When the digging of the plug is being performed, the resilient fingers tend to spread radially outward from the longitudinal axis of the main cylindrical body, being deflected away from directly hitting and scratching the buried object, tend to generally direct the soil upwardly into the main cylindrical body, and tend to cause the plug to be substantially-compacted and cylindrical. The compacted plug may be easily reinserted into a hole in the ground.

  • Patent number: 7089692
Abstract: A slip hitch connection to a drive vehicle for a snow plow comprises an elongated flat planar member that can be hooked on to a connecting lug of the drive vehicle, the flat planar member being mounted on the snow plow frame for reciprocal movement in each of a pair of spaced apart coupling assemblies secured to the snow plow frame for connecting the snow plow to the drive vehicle. Each of the elongated flat planar members have an upper and lower elongated guide slot in which guide bolts that move up and down as the snow plow itself is moved up and down are received to enable the guide bolts and snow plow to which they are connected make limited reciprocal movement up and down while hooked up to the drive vehicle and being pushed forward during a snow plowing operation.

  • Patent number: 7086472
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments include a method and a device for temporary storage of solid particles such as drill cuttings from a hole section for surface casing in a wellbore. In certain embodiments, the device having at least one collecting device placed on the seabed near a template over the mouth of a well. When the receptacle element in the collecting device is to be emptied, the collecting device is brought up to and on board a vessel on the surface of the sea.

  • Patent number: 7059422
Abstract: A mechanism for retaining a pre-selected orientation of a front-end loader bucket at all points throughout the working range of the lift arm assembly includes a linkage system designed to allow rotation of the bucket from a tilted back position to a fully dumped position throughout the range of the lift arm assembly without limiting the range of the lift arm assembly and to provide strength and mechanical integrity to its components at any orientation of the lift arm assembly or the bucket. At extreme raised position the bucket is able to be rotated from a full tilted back orientation to a dumping orientation that allows the floor of the dumped bucket to approach or achieve a position perpendicular to the plane upon which the loader vehicle is standing or assuming the vehicle is on a level plane the orientation of the bucket would be considered as straight down.

  • Patent number: 7036297
Abstract: A fully-adjustable lightweight trimmer attachment assembly (10) broadly comprises a wheel (14), a rod (16) extending from the wheel (14), and a mounting mechanism (18) for rotationally mounting the rod (16) to a trimmer (12). The rod (16) preferably includes an axle section (16a) through the wheel (14), a trailing section (16b) perpendicular to the axle section (16a), a centering section (16c) parallel to the axle section (16a), and a vertical section (16d) aligned at ninety degrees to the centering section (16c) and at sixty degrees to the trailing section (16b). With the vertical section (16d) vertical, the trailing section (16b) forces the wheel (14) to follow the vertical section (16d), providing a castering effect. The mounting mechanism (18) includes a rod mount (30) rotationally secured to the vertical section (16d) and a shaft mount (32) operable to be secured to the trimmer (12) and rotate about the rod mount (30).

  • Patent number: 7021395
Abstract: An attachment device detachably connects a gardening or cultivating tool to the blade of a garden hoe. This attachment device enables a tool such as weed cutters, rakes, pronged tools, and scythes to be detachably mounted to a hoe. The attachment device includes a sheet of metal wherein one or more U-shaped slots are formed along one edge. Tool retaining bolts are threaded into threaded holes in one side of the U-shaped slot(s) to tightly engage the hoe blade within the slot. A cutting tool having this attachment device maintains a spring loaded cutting blade which floats with respect to the hoe attachment device so that compression of the springs during use stores energy when the cutting blade hits an object for enhancing the cutting cycle and for reducing operator fatigue.

  • Patent number: 7017676
Abstract: A support assembly is configured to carry a series of flexible lines associated with operation of an agricultural implement. The agricultural implement generally includes a main frame bar pivotal about a platform. The support assembly includes a mounting bracket, a support arm and a holder assembly. The mounting bracket is pivotally coupled about a vertical axis to the agricultural implement. The support arm is pivotally connected at one end to the agricultural implement, and connected at the other end to the holder assembly. The support assembly is configured to hold the plurality of flexible lines above the platform as the main frame bar pivots about the platform of the implement.
