  • Patent number: 5173082
Abstract: The protective casing includes a system of telescopic tubes (26 and 27) that cover a pair of telescopic tubular elements (13 and 14) connecting two universal joints (9 and 11) on a transmission shaft. The inner telescopic tube (26) is fitted with a grease nipple (35) that is connected via a tube (39) to a chamber formed by a bushing (41) and a sealing ring (63). A suitable lubricant can be injected into the chamber, from the exterior, via the grease nipple (35), so that the telescopic tubular elements (13 and 14) can be kept lubricated without this requiring the transmission being uncoupled.

  • Patent number: 5170995
Abstract: A compact hoist with a central hoist housing and an enclosed transmission located opposite a motor. The output shaft, of the motor, is guided coaxially through a transmission output shaft that is hollow and supports a sprocket wheel, or similar device, and receives power from the transmission. The hoist is particularly easy and economical to assemble, service and repair, and is flexible when in use. In a preferred embodiment, the motor shaft is mounted in a transmission cover opposite the motor and the transmission-output shaft is mounted, on one side in the wall of the hoist housing, and on the other side in an end plate of the motor. That configuration makes the invention particularly suitable for automatic assembly.

  • Patent number: 5160297
Abstract: A tripod constant velocity universal joint having an annular outer member, an inner member and three multiple component rollers. The interior surface of the outer member has three longitudinal lobes forming opposing pairs of parallel longitudinal guideways which are engaged by the multiple component rollers. The inner member is centrally positioned within the outer member and has three trunnions extending radially into the three longitudinal lobes. A multiple component roller is pivotally attached to each of the trunnions. Each multiple component roller has oppositely disposed pairs of elongated rollers, each of which engages an adjacent guideway that corresponds to its trunnion. The axis of rotation of the elongated rollers is substantially perpendicular to its adjacent guideway. Each elongated roller is mounted such that it can be axially displaced along its axis of rotation.

  • Patent number: 5158245
Abstract: A fishing reel of the multiplier type has a frame and a shaft extending through the frame and carrying a rotatable line spool. A clutch member is mounted on the shaft to be shifted between a coupling position, in which it engages the line spool for rotating it, and a neutral position, in which it is disengaged from the spool. A mounting plate carried by the frame has a plurality of mounting pins parallel to the shaft. The mounting plate carries on these pins a clutch mechanism having a yoke in which the clutch member is rotatably mounted and which is displaceably mounted on two of the mounting pins for shifting the clutch member between its two positions. A spring presses the yoke in such a direction that the clutch member is urged towards its coupling position. A link arm is pivotally mounted at one end on one of the mounting pins and has at its other end a pivot pin on which a U-shaped member is pivotally mounted. The link arm is pivotable by a trigger.
