  • Patent number: 9098130
Abstract: When an input indicating a position on a screen has been provided by a pointing device, coordinate values indicating the position are set as coordinate values of a starting point position. Subsequently, it is determined whether or not a state where the position on the screen is being continuously indicated by the pointing device has changed to a non-indicative state where the position on the screen is not indicated by the pointing device. As a result, when the state has changed to the non-indicative state, the coordinate values output from the pointing device before the change to the non-indicative state are set as coordinate values of an end point position, and a direction from the starting point position to the end point position is specified. Then, a virtual object is caused to move such that a moving direction of the virtual object is a direction different from the specified direction.

  • Patent number: 9088666
Abstract: A portable terminal includes an apparatus for controlling an operation of a mobile terminal. More particularly, an apparatus and a method sets a menu to control a mobile terminal in a specific region of an image stored in advance. A relevant function is performed by selecting the specific region of the image in which the menu has been set in the mobile terminal, thereby performing the relevant function fast and conveniently without separately selecting a menu (entering a menu). The apparatus includes a controller. The controller selects a specific region from an output image, sets a menu for controlling a function of the mobile terminal at the specific region, and stores the image where the menu has been set.

  • Patent number: 9081451
Abstract: A capacitive touch panel structure comprises a display module, a touch detection module and an optical adhesive layer interposed between the display module and the touch detection module. The display module includes a base substrate, a transistor layer and a filter set that are sequentially stacked, namely the filter set is located on the transistor layer. The touch detection module includes a cover board and at least one touch control electrode grown on the surface of the cover board. The touch control electrode is directly formed on the surface of the cover board, hence the thickness of the capacitive touch panel of the invention can be reduced. The display module and touch detection module are made separately and bonded together via the optical adhesive layer, hence fabrication difficulty is lower and production yield is higher. Thus production speed and productivity are increased, thereby reducing production cost.

  • Patent number: 9069414
Abstract: Proposed is a touchscreen sensor for touchscreen devices such as iPhones, iPads, etc. The sensor comprises a substrate that supports an IR laser light source that transmits light to a light-delivery ridge waveguide formed on one side of the substrate and an array of photoreceivers on the opposite side of the substrate. The light-delivery waveguide and the photoreceivers of the array are interconnected by a plurality of strip-like illumination waveguides that are divided by touch-sensitive detectors into input and output waveguides. The touch-sensitive detectors are distributed under the external plate with a density that changes optical conditions of the touch-sensitive optical detector when an object, e.g., a finger, touches the external plate. The place of contact is detected and is then used to activate the appropriate command.

  • Patent number: 8988408
Abstract: A responsive, low-power display panel power supply is provided. In one embodiment, such a display panel power supply may include a regulator whose responsiveness varies depending on the bias current it consumes, and a current source that provides a variable bias current. The regulator may provide the display panel a supply voltage and a supply current based on a reference voltage and a bias current. Various events taking place in the display panel, such as toggling at COM lines, source lines, and/or gate lines may cause parasitic capacitances within the display panel to draw more or less supply current. To ensure the regulator remains suitably responsive to such changes in supply current, while reducing the total power consumed by the power supply, the current source may provide a higher bias current to the regulator at least while the supply current is changing than at certain other times.
