  • Patent number: 11157523
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for generating a database of business cases correlated datasets includes receiving a text string indicating a business case topic. The processor isolates a plurality of data types in the dataset that are associated with the business case topic, and correlates the business case topic with the data types. The processor then determines data type links that associate the business case topic with the correlated data types. The processor evaluates each of the one or more data type links for a correlation to the business case topic, and assigns a confidence level value for the correlation. The processor next assigns a business value score for the correlated data type links based on the confidence level value and generates a business case database. The business case database is generated using the plurality of data types, the confidence level for each data type link and the business value scores.

  • Patent number: 11074227
Abstract: ID management for a network attached storage system using layered ID mapping virtualization. When a connection request is received at a NAS server, it is determined whether the request is for a new user, and if so, user IDs are created for the new user. External user ID and filesystem user ID are mapped to the internal user ID, and user ID is verified at the NAS server kernel on subsequent logins with an external database. The user IDs are remapped for the changed user account, and updated mappings are transmitted from the NAS server to one or more NAS server kernel repositories.

  • Patent number: 11068550
Abstract: Search and navigation through navigational queries across a variety of information sources is provided. Upon receipt of a search query, a primary search is performed for information responsive to the query. Information responsive to the primary search is then used to browse one or more information sources for other information related to the result of the primary search. Navigational suggestions and navigational elements may be provided in a user interface to allow the searching user to select the result of the primary search and/or to navigate to other information items found for the primary search result from the one or more information sources. Thus, a seamless transition between searching and browsing is enabled where searching and browsing may be accomplished in response to a single searching or browsing action.

  • Patent number: 11061893
Abstract: A method and apparatus of a device that performs a multi-domain query search is described. In an exemplary embodiment, the device receives a query prefix from a client of a user. The device further determines a plurality of search completions across the plurality of separate search domains. In addition, the device ranks the plurality of search completions based on a score calculated for each of the plurality of search completions determined by a corresponding search domain, where at least one of the plurality of search completions is used to generate a plurality of search results without an indication from the user and in response to receiving the query prefix.

  • Patent number: 11023422
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium are disclosed for reproducing an issue via a remote access controller by providing the remote access controller with a method for allowing a user to take a snapshot (i.e., a representation of the state of all components of an integration environment at a particular point in time) of an integration of the various components administered via a management application suite executing on a remote access controller. In certain embodiments, the management application suite comprises an OpenManage Integration for VMware vCenter. Such a method reduces the time needed to determine a root cause of an issue and assists system managers in properly providing a solution to the issue.

  • Patent number: 10977318
Abstract: Even when a user specifies a plurality of keywords as a search condition, it is possible to provide information of search objects that are commercially advantageous for the user. A search apparatus divides a plurality of keywords specified as a search condition into two child search conditions, each of which includes at least one keyword. The search apparatus searches for a search object that matches all the keywords specified as the search condition. The search apparatus searches for search objects that match all the keywords included in one of the child search conditions and search objects that match all the keywords included in the other of the child search conditions. The search apparatus extracts combinations of search objects having predetermined relationship to each other from among combinations of any one of search objects found by the one of the child search conditions and any one of search objects found by the other of the child search conditions.

  • Patent number: 10970318
Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can detect changes in map data based on device activity data received from a mobile device. For example, the device activity data can include location data that describes locations where the mobile devices have traveled, direction, speed, and/or other data. Based on the received location data, the computing device can determine whether stored map data for a particular area accurately reflects the real world characteristics of the particular area. The device activity data can identify user behavior with respect to the mobile device. For example, the characteristics of a real world geographic area may influence how users use their mobile devices (e.g., which applications are used) in the geographic area. The computing device can analyze the user behavior identified in the device activity data to detect changes in the real world characteristics of the geographic area.

  • Patent number: 10922277
Abstract: Logging changes to file system metadata using a single log hold per cached block of metadata. A metadata log including log entries is maintained in persistent storage, and each log entry in the metadata log contains metadata modified by a corresponding file system request. A single log hold is stored for each block of cached metadata. The single log hold for a given block of cached metadata indicates a file system request that modifies the metadata contained in the block, and that corresponds to a log entry located the closest, of all log entries corresponding to file system requests that modify metadata contained in the block, to a head of the metadata log.

  • Patent number: 10902014
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for reducing network traffic when replicating memory data across hosts. The memory data stored in a main memory of the host computer is replicated to a main memory of a second host computer. Memory data from the local data storage of the second host computer and other hosts computers that is a duplicate of memory data from the main memory is identified. Instead of sending the memory data from the main memory that is duplicated, the duplicated memory is copied from the local storage of the second computer or from one or more of the other computers to the main memory of the second host computer.

  • Patent number: 10866865
Abstract: A data store manager of a multi-data-store storage system detects an error condition associated with applying a state change indicated in a particular journal entry of the storage system to a first data store. A first redaction entry inserted in the journal at some point after the particular entry is identified. The first redaction entry indicates the particular entry as a redaction target. After verifying that the journal does not include another redaction entry targeting the first redaction entry, processing of the particular entry is terminated and processing of later-inserted entries can proceed.

  • Patent number: 10866968
Abstract: A snapshot manager examines a set of entries of a journal of a multi-data-store storage system. Each entry is formatted in a data-store-independent transaction language and various entries contain a respective indication of a committed change to a data object or to a journal schema. Corresponding to various data objects that are materialized at least at a data store of the storage system, respective compact state change representations are generated based on the set of journal entries affecting the data objects. A given compact state change representation, also formatted in the transaction language, may represent cumulative effects of several changes. A snapshot of the journal, comprising the compact state representations, is stored.

  • Patent number: 10795910
Abstract: Guaranteed message sequencing between a first and second database is described. An example method includes maintaining first state information associated with the first database at the first database, where second state information associated with the first database is maintained at the second database. The client sends, to the second database, a message describing changed rows between the first database and the second database since a last synchronization and the first state information. The client subsequently receives, from the second database, status of the last synchronization, where the status is determined by the second database based on the first state information and the second state information.

  • Patent number: 10782987
Abstract: JDBC-X, which is distributed database driver middleware, can extend the JDBC API to facilitate integrating an application with a distributed database. JDBC-X functions as an intermediary between the JDBC API and the JDBC drivers and provides a number of components that adapt JDBC SQL queries and corresponding result sets in a manner that is substantially transparent to the application. In this way, an application that was originally designed to access a relational database can be seamlessly converted to accessing a distributed database. Similarly, JDBC-X allows an application to employ a distributed database that is dynamically provisioned without needing to be aware of the current structure of the database.

  • Patent number: 10747773
Abstract: A database management system (DBMS) manages a database existing in a second storage device with an access speed lower than that of a first storage device. In an execution of a query, the DBMS dynamically generates tasks two or more executable tasks in parallel. The DBMS generates task start information which is information representing a content of the execution of the task, manages the task start information, and executes a content represented by the task start information by the task. The task start information includes a data address set existing in the second storage device. The DBMS controls movement of the data address sets between the first storage device and the second storage device based on a management state of the task start information. In addition, the DBMS selects the task start information based on whether or not the data address set exists in the first storage device.
