  • Patent number: 12040677
Abstract: The disclosure presents configurations and analyses of magnetic gears, which may be used in the second stage of a multistage magnetically geared generator for a marine hydrokinetic generator application and/or other applications as described. In order to reduce field harmonics and maximize the torque density, a Halbach rotor topology is utilized. One feature of the disclosed configuration is a unique magnet arrangement that enables inner and outer Halbach rotor magnets to be more easily assembled, even with dimensional tolerance inaccuracies. The disclosed Halbach magnet rotor topology makes use of the internal magnet forces to retain the magnets in position, and the disclosed configuration also helps with the assembly process.

  • Patent number: 12040664
Abstract: An electric winding exchanger system for a multi-phase electric motor with multiple isolated neutrals and multiple coil paths increases torque or speed performance of multi-phase electric motors and electric drive modules. The system includes an electronic control unit, a back electromotive force (EMF) boosting circuit, a plurality of high-voltage terminals, an electric motor, and a motor control unit. The electronic control unit receives and processes commands from the motor control unit. The back EMF boosting circuit adjusts the winding arrangements of the electric motor in order to change the state of the electric motor. The plurality of high-voltage terminals transfers high voltage electrical energy from the back EMF boosting circuit to the electric motor and vice versa. The motor control unit allows a user to input commands in order to activate increased torque or speed performance for the electric motor. • Patent number: 12003148
Abstract: Improving the assemblability while improving the heat dissipation effect of the heat-sink. In the rotary electric machine, the ECU unit has the heat-sink that closes the opening of the housing of the motor portion, the circuit board fixed to the lower side of the heat-sink, and the connector assembly fixed to the upper side of the heat-sink with a part of the heat-sink exposed. Thus, the heat of the electronic components of the circuit board can be dissipated to the outside of the rotary electric machine by the heat-sink. Moreover, a connection terminal is provided on the lower surface of the circuit board, and the bus bar terminal portion of the motor portion is press-fitted into the connection terminal. Therefore, the bus bar terminal portion can be connected to the circuit board without being soldered to the circuit board. Therefore, the assemblability of the rotary electric machine can be improved.
