    Abstract: Induction motors may have a rotor core assembly that includes a plurality of rotor laminations having an arrangement of vents therein. The arrangement of vents may provide increased airflow through the induction motor without adversely affecting the electromagnetic properties of the motor. The arrangement of vents includes first and second circular rows of vents, wherein each vent of the first row may be radially aligned with a respective vent of the second row, and each radially aligned pair of first and second row vents may be radially aligned with a respective conductor bar slot in the rotor lamination. The number of rotor bar slots may equal the number of first row vents and the number of second row vents. Systems and methods of facilitating ventilation in an induction motor are provided, as are other aspects.

    Abstract: A laminated rotor for an electric machine is disclosed. In an embodiment, the rotor comprises a plurality of stacked laminations. Each lamination includes a plurality of radially extending slots arranged about a circumference thereof, and a first chamfer on a surface of each of the slots, wherein the surface mates with a wedge. The first chamfer connects the surface and a first face of the lamination. A stud member passes longitudinally through a hole in the lamination stack, a first end flange member on a first end of the lamination stack, and a second end flange member on a second end of the lamination stack. A first fastener is affixed to a first end of each of the at least one stud member; and a second fastener affixed to a second end of each of the at least one stud member.

    Abstract: The earth's magnetic field has not been mined as a source of energy for electric vehicles. With average field strength of 0.5×10?4 Tesla around the world it is easy to understand why it has been overlooked. A disruptive technology is needed to mine the earth's magnetic field for powering electric vehicles. Such a technology, graphene, is now at an early stage of development with excellent properties in the form of high conductivity, low resistivity sheets that are durable, light weight, and low cost. Electrical properties of multiple sheets of graphene provide a significant multiplier to earth's weak magnetic field yielding a feasible source of ecologically clean power for electric vehicles. Graphene based EcoCharge systems can be mounted on a vehicles drive shaft and axles putting graphene in motion to mine the earth's magnetic field. Estimates show that EcoCharge can generate 15.1 kW at 60 mph while weighing only 10 oz.
