  • Patent number: 8923335
Abstract: A method and apparatus for binding Redundancy Versions (RVs) with a System Frame Number (SFN) and subframe numbers are disclosed. The method includes: choosing any 5 continuous subframes within a transmission window of a System Information (SI-x) message according to the subframe numbers of an SFN, and binding the SFN and subframe numbers of the 5 continuous subframes with RVs of the SI-x message. Because RVs are bound with an SFN and subframe numbers, when a transmission window of an SI-x message is longer than or equal to 5 ms, system frames and subframes are bound with RVs of the SI-x message so that the RV retransmission of the SI-x message is guaranteed.

  • Patent number: 8902849
Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for transmitting a reference signal in a multi-antenna system. A terminal generates a plurality of reference signal sequences in which cyclic shift values different from each other are allocated to the respective plurality of layers, and generates a single carrier-frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) symbol to which the plurality of reference signal sequences are mapped. The SC-FDMA symbol is transmitted to a base station via a plurality of antennas. The cyclic shift values allocated to the respective layers are determined on the basis of a first cyclic shift value, which is a cyclic shift value allocated to a first layer from among the plurality of layers, and cyclic shift offsets which are allocated to the respective layers and which are different from each other.

  • Patent number: 8897291
Abstract: A connection is established in a communications network responsive to receiving a Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) signal at a port having an assigned sequence associated therewith. A dialed sequence corresponding to the received DTMF signal is identified. If the dialed sequence is associated with a request for a specified service, first and second fields of a packet-switched signaling protocol message are populated with the assigned sequence associated with the port. The populated packet-switched signaling protocol message is transmitted over a packet-switched network to request the specified service, and a connection is established to provide the specified service through the port. Related systems and devices are also discussed.

  • Patent number: 8885642
Abstract: An address for controlling transmission of routing through a network is obtained by means of input from a combination of network terminals. Initially, address describing data is received from a user via a source terminal. A control circuit determines whether the address describing data is sufficient to define an address of a destination. If not, the control circuit uses the address describing data to extract information must be met by the destination, but for which it is not known for specific destinations whether it is met. The information may define a desired property of the destination for example, or a mutual relation between the user and the destination. The control circuit then transmits a confirmation request to one or more possible destinations, to ask whether information relates to the possible destination. If a positive confirmation is received back from a possible destination, the address of this possible destination is used.

  • Patent number: 8885502
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for providing feedback over a multiple path network is provided. A first device sends a transmissions to a second device over at least two different paths of the network. Using information collected as a result of receiving the transmissions, the second device aggregates data regarding the performance of each of the paths together into a feedback message. The second device then sends this feedback message to the first device over one path of the network. The first device uses the data in the feedback message in its calculations for determining the relative performance of each path. The amount of traffic sent along each path is adjusted as appropriate, based on these calculations.

  • Patent number: 8879487
Abstract: The invention relates to methods and apparatuses for providing HARQ feedback in a mobile communication system using carrier aggregation. To suggest a scheme for transmitting feedback on the successful/unsuccessful decoding of transmissions that is operable in FDD mode, the invention proposes to utilize only a single one of plural radio resources available for feedback transmission for signaling feedback for multiple transmissions. A feedback sequence of ACK/NACKs for the transmissions is mapped to one feedback resource combination that is one of the radio resources available for feedback transmission and a modulation symbol of the given modulation scheme that is transmitted on said one radio resource. This scheme can also be used in cases where the number of possible feedback sequences of ACK/NACKs for the transmissions is larger than the number of feedback resource combinations available for feedback transmission.

  • Patent number: 8842630
Abstract: In one embodiment, a wireless transmitting node in a frequency hopping wireless network may determine whether a packet can be transmitted within a particular timeslot of a frequency hopping sequence based on a length of the packet. If unable to transmit the packet within the particular timeslot, the transmitting node extends the particular timeslot into a subsequent timeslot to allow transmission of the packet within the extended timeslot at a frequency associated with the particular timeslot. Once the extended timeslot ends, the transmitting node and receiving node hop frequencies into the subsequent timeslot to synchronize with the rest of the network that already hopped at the conventional rate. In another embodiment, a wireless receiving node may also extend the particular timeslot into a subsequent timeslot to allow reception of a packet that would extend beyond the particular timeslot, and may hop frequencies upon expiration of the extended timeslot.
