Abstract: A method and circuit for performing Correlated Double Sub-Sampling (CDSS) of pixels in an active pixel sensor (APS) array. The method and the apparatus subsamples a plurality (L2) of pixels by: storing L2 analog reset charges output from the L2 pixels into a first set of (N2) storage capacitors, and combining the (L2) reset charges; storing L2 analog image signal charges output from the L2 pixels into a second set of (N2) storage capacitors, and combining the (L2) image charges; and then obtaining a differential voltage (VS-VR) by subtracting (in the analog-domain) the voltage (VR) represented by the combined (L2) reset charges from the voltage (VS) represented by the combined (L2) image signal charges. When L equals one, the circuit performs conventional Correlated Double Sampling CDS upon the one pixel.
Abstract: In a state deciding apparatus, an information acquiring unit acquires pieces of information of different types related to a state of an image forming apparatus. An index value calculating unit calculates an index value based on the pieces of information acquired. A state change deciding unit decides a change in a subsequent state of the image forming apparatus, based on a temporal change in the index value calculated.
Abstract: A post-processor circuit subjects color processing to an output data of an imaging device, that is, CCD. The post-processor circuit is provided with RGB measurement circuits. Measurement points are located before and after processing circuits. RGB data obtained at these measurement points are selectively captured into the RGB measurement circuits to make measurement. By doing so, color data at a required portion is measured without using software processing, therefore, the measurement result is simply and rapidly obtained.

Abstract: A method and a system for self-calibrating a wide field-of-view camera (such as a catadioptric camera) using a sequence of omni-directional images of a scene obtained from the camera. The present invention uses the consistency of pairwise features tracked across at least a portion of the image collection and uses these tracked features to determine unknown calibration parameters based on the characteristics of catadioptric imaging. More specifically, the self-calibration method of the present invention generates a sequence of omni-directional images representing a scene and tracks features across the image sequence. An objective function is defined in terms of the tracked features and an error metric (an image-based error metric in a preferred embodiment). The catadioptric imaging characteristics are defined by calibration parameters, and determination of optimal calibration parameters is accomplished by minimizing the objective function using an optimizing technique.
Abstract: A system for scanning objects having at least two linear array sensors, adapted to detect light input signals, is provided. A lens is optically connected to each of the linear array sensors, and are adapted to receive and transmit an optical image located in a respective lens field of view along a respective lens axis to the respective one of the at least two linear array sensor. A light source which generates an illumination stripe in general linear alignment with the lens axis across a depth of the field of view is provided. A cylindrical lens is positioned between the light source and an object to be scanned. The cylindrical lens adapted to collect, transmit and focus light from the light source to form the illumination stripe. This arrangement provides a wider system field of view with generally more uniform resolution.
