Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for safely and simply disposing of hypodermic syringes and needles. The apparatus includes: (a) a housing or enclosure; (b) microwave generator, (c) microwave absorber, and (d) a syringe receiver heated by the microwave absorber to a temperature greater than the melting point of the needle. The apparatus is self-contained and can be provided in any desired size.
Abstract: The cooking utensil has a container formed by bottom and side walls. The bottom and side walls form a cavity within the container. The corrugated wall is located inside of the container cavity. The corrugated wall has openings therethrough located in hollows of the corrugations. A support structure located in the cavity supports the corrugated wall above the bottom wall. Absorbent material is located inside of the cavity between the bottom wall and the corrugated wall. The absorbent material absorbs and retains liquids from foods that drain through the openings in the corrugated wall, thereby preventing spillage of hot grease out of the container. A cover is provided to cover the container cavity during cooking.
Abstract: An improved substrate heating apparatus for use in a low-pressure CVD technique is provided. The apparatus comprises a substrate fixing member whose surface is coated with a heat reflector that reflects heat generated by a substrate heater. By virtue of this heat reflector, the surface temperature of the substrate fixing member can be maintained significantly lower than that of a substrate to be processed. Thus undesirable, thin film deposition on the surface of the substrate fixing member can be effectively suppressed. As a result, wasteful material gas consumption can be minimized, and the rate of forming thin films on the substrate surface can be held substantially constant.
Abstract: An electrically-heated deck type baker's oven where the electric heating elements, which are U-shaped in plan view, are supported by and slidable through metal chairs in rectangular metal tubes forming a series of lower and upper passages lining the top and bottom of the oven compartment.
