  • Patent number: 11257341
Abstract: A fire detection and suppression system includes a system controller for determining an initial location of the fire based on fire location information from fire detectors, and then the system controller determines a final location of the fire based on fire location information taking into account spatial and/or angular relationships between the fire detectors and the initial location. The system controller determines a location of the fire and activates monitors to deploy suppressant based on a distance between each of the monitors and the location of the fire. The system controller controls the monitors based on how the suppressant is deployed onto the fire.

  • Patent number: 11142317
Abstract: A diffuser for distributing spray or insects from an aircraft is mounted on an aircraft and comprises a distribution tube connected to an insect source at a first end and open to the outside at a second end for distribution of the insects. A nozzle surrounds the second end and a tube cover surrounds the second end within the nozzle. The tube cover has an aerofoil, or wing-shaped, cross section. The nozzle shape sets up an air transition volume between the aircraft and ambient air designed for a maximum wind shear over any cubic centimeter volume within the air transition volume to be less than 60 km/h, and therefore allowing distribution of insects such as mosquitoes from the aircraft without damage, or allowing aerosols to be spread as large droplets.

  • Patent number: 11116151
Abstract: A clog resistant in-line vortex emitter and drip irrigation assembly and method uses a double-sided circuit and a series of vortex chambers of optimized dimensions to create a pressure drop with large dimensions and good clog resistance. The vortex chamber 100 also al lows for a lower exponent than traditional circuits. This gives a pressure regulating property to the no-moving-parts circuit. The vortex emitter allows for some pressure regulation without sacrificing recyclability or requiring moving parts. The vortex circuit of the present disclosure is optimized for an emitter efficiency Ef value wherein Ef=(k/Ackt)*Amin such that k is a unitless head loss coefficient, Ackt is the area of the circuit, and Amin is the minimum cross sectional area of the circuit. A higher k per a given area with larger dimensions allows for a smaller part with a lower chance of clogging.
