  • Patent number: 6703797
Abstract: A method for activating an illuminator and an illuminating device. The invention uses pins on an application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) in a scanner to output pulses of different frequencies. The illuminator has different efficiencies at different frequencies, so the heat generated by the illuminator at the frequencies of inferior efficiency is used to achieve fast warm-up, and the voltage output frequency of the highest light efficiency is provided to the illuminator after warm-up. The illumination device can be designed according to the activation method. It comprises an illuminator, a pulse output unit, a driving unit and a power supply unit. The power supply unit outputs the frequency needed for the warm-up period and the frequency needed for the working period. The driving unit activates the pulse output of the pulse output unit.

  • Patent number: 6703987
Abstract: When a contact terminal 11 is mounted by being inserted into a bobbin 12 from the bottom end thereof, the contact terminal 11 is fixed to the bottom part of the bobbin 12 by the action of raised tabs 11c which prevents the contact terminal 11 from coming off. Next, a folded portion 13c formed on the bottom end of a coil element 13 is inserted into the bobbin 12 from the top thereof, and the folded portion 13c is fixed there by being press-fitted between press-fitting members 11b. Next, a top cover portion 10 is fitted by insertion to the bobbin 12 from the top of the coil element-supporting bobbin 12. As a result, four coupling members 10a are fixed by being inserted between first ribs 12c and second ribs 12d formed in the bottom part of bobbin 12. Since this helical antenna is assembled without the need of using assembly jigs or tools and without using adhesives, assembly can be done easily, and costs can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6703790
Abstract: A method for driving a self-scanning light-emitting element array, in which a power consumed in a write signal limiting resistor provided outside a chip to suppress a temperature rising of an optical writing head. The difference between High-level and Low-level in a circuitry in the driver circuit for controlling the light-emitting portion in the chip is set so as to be lower than the difference between High-level and Low-level in a circuitry in the driver circuit for controlling the transfer portion in the chip. • Patent number: 6703802
Abstract: The invention provides a circuit for controlling a cathode ray tube. The circuit comprises a source of input color signals (Uin(R), Uin(G), Uin(B)) for the primary colors of the cathode ray tube. Output amplifiers are coupled to the source of color input signals and to electron guns of the cathode ray tube. Finally, limiting means are provided to limit the color input signals to a predetermined threshold value. In this way the output amplifiers are prevented from saturation and undesirable smears do not appear on the screen. In an advantageous embodiment the limiting means are realized by a diode biased in reverse direction.

  • Patent number: 6703796
Abstract: This invention relates to a power supply that integrates a rectifier/filter's circuitry and a converter's circuitry with an inverter to reduce space occupied and increase power efficiency. The power supply includes: a rectifier/filter, a DC-DC converter and a DC-AC inverter. The rectifier/filter, connected to an alternating current (AC) input terminal, converts the input AC into a direct current (DC). The DC-DC converter and the DC-AC inverter are parallel to each other with one end concurrently connected to the rectifier/filter's output and the other end respectively outputting the desired powers. As such, DC-DC converter reduces the converted DC voltage to lower DC voltages to power all circuits except for the lamp and DC-AC inverter converts the converted DC voltage into higher AC voltage output to drive the lamp.
