  • Patent number: 5797186
Abstract: A method for manufacturing an imaging drum for use in applying ink to the imaging drum as the drum rotates. The present method possesses utility in that previously unsuitable low cost materials for use in creating an imaging drum characterized by rigorous specification and tolerance requirements adequately perform when manufactured in accordance with the present method. The present method finds use in the digital printing and imaging industry where successful repeatable and accurate printing requires precise knowledge of the characteristics of the print engine mechanical motion and printing materials which include printing media (e.g., paper, vinyl, film, wax or other thermally imaged substrates that typically include emulsion coatings thereon) to promote consistent interaction with printing media marking materials such as ink, toner, or various printing ribbon resin-based compounds, etc.

  • Patent number: 4892343
Abstract: A vacuum pencil for transporting semiconductor wafers includes a relatively flat, planar frame member having an enlarged end with a circular hole formed therein. A handle is coupled to the other end of the flat frame member. A relatively flat, deformable elastic member is positioned adjacent and below the enlarged end of the flat frame member and concentric with the hole formed therein. A lever member has a relatively flat first end lying closely adjacent to the flat frame member. The flat first end of the lever member is connected to the center of the deformable elastic member, and an opposing second end of the flat frame member is adapted to be depressed by the user, thereby causing the flat first end to raise the center of the deformable elastic member.

  • Patent number: 4858980
Abstract: An article gripper with a fixed jaw has a movable jaw mounted on reed springs. Deflection of the movable jaw permits the article to enter and exit the gripper. The movable jaw has an inlet cam surface and an outlet cam surface, configured so that a low-level inlet force deflects the jaw and reeds laterally, while a higher-level outlet, or removal, force is directed parallel to the reed springs causing the jaw to behave stiffly and thus resist pullout of the article.
