  • Patent number: 9254008
Abstract: A drug delivery system can include a cylindrical structure extending in a longitudinal direction and formed from a substrate of an electrically conductive material. The cylindrical structure can include multiple electrodes extending laterally on the substrate at respective longitudinal locations. The electrodes each have an electrical resistance small enough to conduct current laterally along the substrate without heating the cylindrical structure. The cylindrical structure can include at least one substrate portion extending longitudinally between a respective pair of electrodes. Each substrate portion can have an electrical resistance high enough to conduct current longitudinally between the electrodes and resistively heat the respective substrate portion in response to the current conducted therethrough. A dose of a drug can be disposed on each substrate portion and configured to volatilize into a gas in response to the resistive heating of the respective substrate portion.

  • Patent number: 9199056
Abstract: A respiratory anesthetic aggregate devised for coupling to a breathing apparatus has an anesthetic gasifier unit that has a breathing gas input port connected to a first point in an inspiratory patient gas delivery path of a breathing apparatus, and a fresh gas output port connected to a second point in the patient gas delivery path downstream the first point. The inspiratory patient gas delivery path is connected via a mainstream connection between the first and second point. Thereby the anesthetic gasifier unit is connected in a sidestream configuration to the patient gas delivery path for adding the gasified anesthetic agent in a desired concentration to the patient gas delivery path at the second point. • Patent number: 9149596
Abstract: A mechanism for releasing a mask from a patient's face includes a frame part including a male connection and a frame engagement portion for engaging a cooperating portion on a frame of the mask. A headgear part includes a female connection that is adapted to receive the male connection when the frame part is inserted into the headgear part, and a headgear engagement portion for engaging a cooperating portion on headgear of the mask. A cord has one end secured to the male connection, such that when the cord is pulled by the patient the male connection disengages from the female connection and consequently the frame part separates from the headgear part releasing the mask from the patient's face. A method of releasing a mask from a patient's face includes pulling a cord away from a frame of the mask to release a latch of the mask frame from a latch receiving portion of a headgear of the mask to release the latch from the latch receiving portion.
