Abstract: A portable audio apparatus allows a user to sing along with the recorded song, the user's voice and recorded song being outputted through a speaker. The apparatus permits the recorded lyrics or recorded tune of the song to be substantially eliminated prior to being reproduced by the speaker. The apparatus can operate in a fast forward or reverse mode and will stop between adjacent songs. A power savings circuit interrupts the supply of power to a motor to stop the latter from continuing to operate on a fast forward or reverse mode.

Abstract: A head base has at least one head chip fixed thereto. A position of the head chip is adjusted to a predetermined position by applying a laser beam to the head base to cause plastic deformation of the head base. Appropriate laser radiation conditions are set depending upon a necessary amount of positional adjustment of the head chip fixed to the head base.

Abstract: A time difference slow mode control circuit of a video tape recorder for controlling a capstan motor by picking up the reproduction control signal from a magnetic tape, in the time difference slow mode, generates delayed phase-delayed pseudo reproduction control signal by a half period of a head switching pulse, the frequency of the pseudo reproduction control signal being the same as that of the reproduction control signal, thus controlling the capstan motor so that the video tape recorder may have a normal time difference slow mode even when a pick-up error arises and thereby improving screen quality.
