  • Patent number: 11869277
Abstract: A technique for controlling access to one or more attractions is achieved using a number of access keys, each being issued to one or more users. An electronic queue management part manages a virtual queue in respect of each attraction and receives electronic requests for attraction access, each request relating to an access key and being for the users associated with it to access a particular attraction. Receipt of each request causes the respective users to be added to a corresponding virtual queue. A time at which each group of users reaches the front of the virtual queue and can access the attraction is determined. The users access the attractions by presenting an access key to an access control part, in communication with the electronic queue management part. Only a user presenting an access key at the correct time for accessing the attraction is allowed access to the attraction.

  • Patent number: 11843988
Abstract: A wireless proximity detection system employs short-range wireless communication to detect the proximity of a user device within a strictly defined wireless zone and as a result trigger a desired action. The proximity detection system may utilize one or more leaky feeders to define the wireless zone and the associated received signal strength(s) detected by the user's wireless device. Alternatively, a compact planar antenna structure coupled with a highly shielded radio transceiver is used to allow a similar precise low-power radio beam to be emitted defining a small location to enable identification of a wireless device such as a smartphone in a given area in front of the device. The planar antenna structure allows a compact and low-cost fabrication method and the use of common printed circuit fabrication methods provide an integrated solution.

  • Patent number: 11837081
Abstract: Remote control device and method for controlling interactions between the remote control device and a controlled appliance. The remote control device comprises a BLE interface and a battery for powering the BLE interface. Upon determination of a first condition being met, the remote control device sets the BLE interface in a standby mode where the power supplied by the battery to the BLE interface is limited to a minimal value. Upon determination of a second condition being met, the remote control device transmits one or more BLE advertising signal via the BLE interface. The remote control device receives a connection request from a controlled appliance via the BLE interface, establishes a connection between the remote control device and the controlled appliance through the BLE interface, and exchanges data with the controlled appliance via the BLE communication interface (e.g. transmission of a command for an actuator of the controlled appliance).

  • Patent number: 11816934
Abstract: A system enabling hands-free operation of controls for accessing a transportation vehicle is provided. The system comprises code readers associated with respective entry barriers for admitting passengers to a transportation vehicle. The code readers read a machine-readable passenger code generated by a mobile electronic device and actuate mechanisms allowing entry through the barriers responsive confirmation of the code. A signal receiver in communication with a Passenger Service Unit for passenger seat onboard the vehicle receives instructions from the mobile electronic device and instruct the PSU to actuate passenger cabin controls for the passenger seat. An application on the mobile electronic device determines a time-stamped temperature of a passenger and generates the passenger code, which includes passenger identification, authorization to pass through the entry barriers and board the vehicle, and a determination if the temperature of the passenger indicates an acceptable passenger health status.

  • Patent number: 11798341
Abstract: Techniques are described for user authentication based on a signal that is transmitted through an individual's body, and detected using device(s) in physical contact with the individual. A signal, such as an electrical signal or a vibrational signal, may be transmitted from a first device and received by a second device that is in physical contact with the individual. The received signal may be employed to determine a body signature for the individual. The body signature may identify the individual among a population of individuals, given the particular alterations to the propagating signal caused by the individual's physiology. Accordingly, the body signature may be employed as a form of biometric data that is useable to authenticate the individual to access a secure area, log in to a device or an application, or for other purposes.

  • Patent number: 11790710
Abstract: A system includes one or more memory devices storing instructions, and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform steps of a method. The system may receive an authentication request from a computing device and determine whether the authentication request corresponds with stored authentication data. Based on the determination, the system may store identification data associated with a smart device corresponding to the authentication request. The system may receive detection data when the smart device is detected within a predetermined area and, in response to a detection, obtain an identifier from the smart device. The system may determine whether the obtained identifier corresponds with the stored identification data. Based on the determination, the system may direct an electronic lock to transition from a locked state to an unlocked state.

  • Patent number: 11783651
Abstract: A method in an access control system comprising a control unit connected to one or more mobile devices using radio-frequency signal communication. The control unit sends a motion status request to a connected mobile device out of the one or more connected mobile devices in response to the generated event. The method comprises determining an indication of a probability that the connected mobile device is associated with the event. Determining the indication is based on received signal strength data, measured by the connected mobile device on the radio-frequency signals transmitted by the control unit during a first predetermined period of time before the motion status request is received, and motion sensor data collected from a motion sensor comprised in the connected mobile device during a second predetermined period of time before the motion status request is received.
