  • Patent number: 12234859
Abstract: Provided is a position adjustment mechanism including: a case; a moving member including a first engaging part and a second engaging part; a lock member provided in the case so as to be movable between a lock position for regulating movement of the moving member in a first direction with respect to the case and a separate position for allowing relative movement of the moving member with respect to the case; and a long member. The lock member includes: a first engaged part engaging with the first engaging part in the first direction; and a second engaged part engaging with the second engaging part in the first direction. When the lock member is at the separate position, the lock member regulates separation of the moving member from the case by engagement of the first engaging part with the first engaged part in the first direction.

  • Patent number: 9846448
Abstract: A pedal-side rotating member is composed of a boss portion rotatably supported by a pedal shaft, a spring holding portion for holding one end of a return spring, a stopper arm being operatively in contact with an inner wall surface of a supporting body, and a mechanically-weaker portion, wherein the boss portion, the spring holding portion, the stopper arm and the mechanically-weaker portion are integrally formed as one unit. The spring holding portion is so configured as to be broken away from the boss portion at the mechanically-weaker portion, if an acting force larger than a predetermined value is applied to the stopper arm when the rotating member is rotated in a direction to an acceleration fully-closed position. A broken piece is held at a position inside of the supporting body, so that rotation of the boss portion is not adversely affected by the broken piece.

  • Patent number: 7373855
Abstract: The invention relates to a switching device for a parking brake, especially a commercial-vehicle parking brake, with a handle that can be moved between a pulled position for engaging the parking brake and a pushed position for releasing the parking brake, and to such a parking brake. The handle is subjected to a preload force toward a central position when it is in the pulled or pushed position. Depending on the position of the handle, an evaluation device outputs different control signals for an actuating device of the parking brake.

  • Patent number: 7354365
Abstract: A metal belt includes a metal ring assembly formed from a plurality of layered endless metal rings, and a large number of metal elements supported on the metal ring assembly, the metal belt assembly being wound around a pulley and transmitting a driving force. The clearance between adjacent metal rings is set to be in a range from negative to positive from the innermost ring to a middle ring and to be only positive from the middle ring to the outermost ring. Therefore, good lubricating conditions can be maintained by virtue of the clearance being always positive for sliding surfaces of the metal rings from the middle ring to the outermost ring, for which lubrication easily becomes insufficient in the prior art.

  • Patent number: 7350439
Abstract: A case cover assembly to which a sheave for a continuously variable transmission is mountable for rotation about an axis is configured to provide fluid communication between the sheave and a pressurized fluid source. The case cover assembly includes a conduit defining a first segment of a passageway for providing fluid communication between the pressurized fluid source and the sheave. An inner annular surface and an outer annular surface define an annular second segment of the passageway. A chamber at least partially formed by a case cover member defines a third segment of the passageway. The third segment is positioned with respect to the second segment such that fluid flows radially inward toward the axis from the second segment. The radial inflow provides improved pressure transference and packaging compared to the prior art.

  • Patent number: 7343830
Abstract: An adjustable pedal unit for a motor vehicle includes a first plate onto which are mounted at least the accelerator pedal (2) and the footbrake pedal (3). The plate is mounted slidingly onto longitudinal guides inclined upwardly and forwardly, so that in the most withdrawn position (referring to motor vehicle driving direction) of the pedal unit, the pedals are placed in a lower position. Conversely, in the most forward position of the pedal unit, the pedals are paced in a higher position. The driver's heels rest on a second plate (2) moving longitudinally together with the first plate (1) when the latter is adjusted in position, however always on a basically horizontal plane. An auxiliary footboard may be provided for resting the foot that does not actuate the accelerator and footbrake pedal (2, 3).

  • Patent number: 7340977
Abstract: A brake mechanism includes a pedal arm, a beam and a cam. The pedal arm is pivotally connected to the vehicle, while the beam is interposed between the pedal arm and the input rod for transmitting force from the pedal arm to the input rod. The beam is pivotally connected to the pedal arm and rotatable relative thereto. The cam defines a cam profile, and the beam contacts the cam and follows the cam profile as the pedal arm is activated. The cam profile is shaped to adjust the position of the beam relative to the pedal arm as the pedal arm swings relative to the vehicle. In this way, a variable force ratio is provided to maintain brake pedal feel while achieving an acceptable force ratio for failed power situations. The mechanism can be designed such that the force ratio does not drop off further into the pedal travel.

  • Patent number: 7337692
Abstract: An electronically controlled pedal assembly with hysteresis includes a mounting bracket and pedal arm and a pedal support arm extending therebetween. The pedal arm is pivotally mounted to the pedal support arm at a pedal arm pivot point. The pedal support arm is pivotally mounted to the mounting bracket at a pedal support arm pivot point. A hysteresis generating means is operatively supported by the support arm at the pedal support arm pivot point, and includes a torsion spring and a friction spacer having a cylindrical portion and an outer helical flange. The friction spacer is disposed within the torsion spring such that the outer flange of the friction spacer fits between the coils of the coil spring. Rotation of the support arm creates a frictional hysteresis force between the torsion spring and the friction spacer that is translated back through the pedal arm.
