  • Patent number: 5838371
Abstract: The amount of edge enhancement outputted from an amount-of-edge-enhancement computing circuit is determined on the basis of the degree of sharpness of the edge independently of a zoom magnification. In the meantime, in an enhancement coefficient computing circuit, an enhancement coefficient according to the zoom magnification is computed. In a multiplier, the output from the amount-of-edge-enhancement computing circuit (the amount of edge enhancement) is multiplied by the output from the enhancement coefficient computing circuit (the enhancement coefficient). The resultant amount of edge correction is outputted from the multiplier. Accordingly, the amount of edge correction outputted from the multiplier takes a value according to the zoom magnification. According to this arrangement, enhancement processing which does not bring about overcorrection or unprocessing can be applied to the edge portion of an image enlarged by electronic zoom.

  • Patent number: 4684977
Abstract: A frame comb type composite video decoder which does not require motion adaptive processing circuitry generates low frequency luminance signal components from one field of composite video signal. The high frequency luminance component is derived from two lines of composite video signal from each of two fields disposed before and after the field from which the low frequency luminance signals is developed.

  • Patent number: 4677463
Abstract: By including a counting circuit, optionally followed by a sample-and-hold circuit coupled to an output of a quadrature-component demodulator in a chrominance signal processing section of a color television receiver and providing a memory circuit for a presetting value, which memory circuit is coupled to a control signal input of a chrominance carrier oscillator via a digital-to-analog converter, a fast, sufficiently accurate automatic adjusting procedure for this oscillator can be obtained, while a normally provided control loop of the oscillator is made inoperative.

  • Patent number: 4677488
Abstract: A video system includes a TV receiver, a TTX processor, and a microprocessor control for controlling the functions thereof. The TTX processor includes an RGB switch unit supplied with RGB signals from a shift register in the TTX processor and from an external source of RGB signals. A video coder unit includes RGB switch means for selectively supplying RGB signals from the TTX processor and from the TV receiver and a switch for selectively coupling a timing signal from the TV receiver and the external source. The RGB switch unit in the TTX processor has a TTX address and all switching is controlled by the microprocess.

  • Patent number: 4641186
Abstract: A motion detector for detecting motion in a picture contained in a television signal includes a filter that extracts a portion of the frequency spectrum of the television signal. The amplitude of the sidebands of the television signal in this portion of the frequency spectrum is indicative of motion in the picture scene. The signal from the filter is coupled to a peak detector that produces a motion indicative signal. The amplitude of the motion signal is proportional to the absolute value of the amplitude of the sidebands in this portion of the spectrum.
