  • Patent number: 11543034
Abstract: A labyrinth sealing device for reducing gas intrusion is provided. A sealing bush is provided with a jet hole at the front of a tooth tip gap. The jet hole faces a tip of a corresponding sealing tooth. A gas flow injected by the jet hole suppresses hot gas flowing into the tooth tip gap. The sealing bush is provided with a first intercepting member at the rear of the tooth tip gap, and the sealing tooth is provided with a second intercepting member at the rear of the tooth tip gap. The first intercepting member hinders hot gas flowing against an inner wall of the sealing bush, and the second intercepting member hinders hot gas flowing against the sealing tooth, such that a part of the hot gas flows in a reverse direction and is violently mixed with subsequent hot gas.

  • Patent number: 11473679
Abstract: An end face mechanical seal for a high pressure, compressible fluid includes metal or ceramic seal faces separated by a seal gap having at least one supersonic region that accelerates the fluid in the leakage direction, producing a shockwave that reduces fluid pressure to significantly reduce viscous heating and gap length. A choke width of the seal gap formed between the converging and diverging segments of the first supersonic region is between 50 and 200 micro-inches, and upper and lower boundaries thereof are flat, with combined slopes of less than 10 degrees. A total length of all of the supersonic regions is less than 0.1 inches. A non-supersonic region can further reduce fluid pressure by inducing viscous stresses. The seal can be configured axially or radially, and can be used as a pre-conditioner in combination with a conventional downstream mechanical fluid seal.

  • Patent number: 11441685
Abstract: The rotary face seal with magnet loading replaces known spring mechanisms with magnetic technology that provides a consistent load with minimal variation, which is not affected by natural frequency and material fatigue due to cyclic loading. This improves seal performance and service life. The tubular magnetic ring is advantageous because it replaces existing seals within stationary cartridge with a puller type magnetic assembly design that results with the stationary cartridges being an exact exchange. The use of magnetic technology attached to the outside diameter of the rotating mating ring, which is attached to the shaft, that does not produce eddy currents because it is of a single pole configuration. The single pole magnetic assembly design is achieved by either axial or radial magnet orientation, such as in the form of a tubular magnetic band locating in a circumferential notch in the rotating mating ring.

  • Patent number: 11415179
Abstract: A tie rod boot includes a minimally thick accordion shaped bellows section. One terminal end of the boot is secured to a steering mechanism and the other is secured to a tie rod. Protuberances are provided and are strategically located on the bellows walls for resisting impacts from rocks and other debris and minimizing holes through the tie rod. When the bellows is retracted and pairs of opposing bellows walls collapse towards each other, the protuberances of adjacent opposing walls nest with each other and contact the opposing wall. The protuberances can be step shaped rings or a ring of discrete protuberances which are step shaped or both. The step shaped protuberances are defined by a riser surface extending along a plane which is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the boot and a tread annular surface which is substantially parallel with the longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 11408512
Abstract: A magnetic fluid sealing device, includes first pole teeth and a first magnetic fluid adsorbed on the first pole teeth functioning as a first line of defense for sealing, as well as second pole teeth and a second magnetic fluid adsorbed on the second pole teeth functioning as a second line of defense for sealing. The second pole teeth of the magnetic fluid sealing device are arranged on the permanent magnet or the flux sleeve. Since the flux sleeve is fitted over the permanent magnet, the arrangement of the second pole teeth can ensure the ability of the pole shoe to absorb the magnetic fluid, and also can make full use of a length of the permanent magnet in the axial direction of the rotating shaft. Therefore, the magnetic fluid sealing device is effectively improved in the sealing effect and the pressure resistance without increasing its axial length.
