Patent number: 8218788Abstract: An anti-feedback device includes an anti-feedback filter provided in a closed loop. The anti-feedback device down-samples a signal of specific band selected from an output signal of an adaptive target signal transfer system and a signal of the same band selected from an input signal of the transfer system, and a filtering coefficient of the adaptive filter is updated by use of the down-sampled signals. The filter controller controls a filtering characteristic of the anti-feedback filter so that a peak gain of a frequency of an amplitude characteristic within a specific band of a closed loop determined from the filtering coefficient of the adaptive filter is suppressed. Moreover, the filter controller estimates a gain of the closed loop outside the specific band from the amplitude characteristic in the specific band and controls the amount of suppression of the anti-feedback filter outside the band in accordance with a result of estimation.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2009Date of Patent: July 10, 2012Assignee: Yamaha CorporationInventors: Hiraku Okumura, Hirobumi Tanaka

Patent number: 7702115Abstract: A method and apparatus to reconstruct high-frequency components of an input audio signal. The apparatus includes a frequency inverter to invert the frequency spectrum of the input audio signal, a band pass filter which filters out the higher frequency components of the input audio signal, a converter which shifts the frequency spectrum of the filtered signal to create a correction signal, and an adder which adds the correction signal to the input audio signal to obtain a reconstructed audio signal.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2006Date of Patent: April 20, 2010Assignee: Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.Inventors: Andrey Sergeevich Petuhov, Vladimir Aleksandrovich Sviridenko, Tatiana Mikhailivna Yudina, Seung-hun Jeon

Patent number: 7130705Abstract: A system and method for automatically adjusting the gain of an audio system as a speaker's head moves relative to a microphone includes using a video of the speaker to determine an orientation of the speaker's head relative to the microphone and, hence, a gain adjust signal. The gain adjust signal is then applied to the audio system that is associated with the microphone to dynamically and continuously adjust the gain the audio system.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2001Date of Patent: October 31, 2006Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Arnon Amir, Gal Ashour

Patent number: 6934551Abstract: A method for wireless data transmission for adaptive multiple protocols is disclosed. In one embodiment, data is collected by a data collecting devices and transmitted to one or more Cellular Digital Packet Data (“CDPD”) modems via one or more RS232 interfaces. Applications programs in the CDPD initiate communications and transmission of serial data begins when the status of both interfaces is established. Transmission of information as serial data via RS232 interfaces minimizes the resources required to communicate data between different devices using different standards and protocols.Type: GrantFiled: October 9, 1997Date of Patent: August 23, 2005Assignee: MCI Communications CorporationInventor: George Kuriyan
