  • Patent number: 9778610
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a carrying part that carries media, a supply part that forwards the media to the carrying part piece by piece, wherein when a preceding medium is detected to have been fed to the carrying part, a succeeding medium is next fed to the carrying part, and a carrying controller that stops the preceding medium at a stop position of the media before the preceding medium is carried to the image forming process. The carrying controller obtains a medium length of the preceding medium in the carrying path, and changes the stop position of the preceding medium based on the medium length such that the trailing edge of the preceding medium is maintained distant from the leading edge of the succeeding medium while the preceding medium stops at the stop position.

  • Patent number: 9743013
Abstract: Networks of cameras and/or other sensors enable a sensor monitoring system or other computer system to control hiding devices used to enable the cameras and/or other sensors to evade danger by hiding or being disguised. Detection and/or determination of potential danger is garnered from data, from some of the cameras and/or sensors, that they or other of the cameras and/or sensors may be facing eminent danger of discovery, manipulation, alteration, deactivation, and/or damage. The hiding devices are caused to hide or disguise the sensors and/or cameras that appear to be in danger. Hiding or disguising can continue for at least a finite duration of time, or until indication of danger is gone. Some of the cameras and/or other sensors, and their associated hiding devices, can be turned off or made to sleep for periods of time until at least awaken by time-out events or by events indicating a need to do so.

  • Patent number: 9712736
Abstract: Various techniques for performing camera control techniques based on brainwave data from an electroencephalography (EEG) headset are disclosed herein. In an example, a computing system operates to receive brainwave data representing brainwave activity, process the brainwave data, and transmit a command to a camera device based on the processed brainwave data. For example, the brainwave data may correlate to raw brainwave signals (from gamma, beta, alpha, theta, or delta brainwaves), or composite brainwave signals (from multiple brainwaves, representative of attention, meditation, or like states). As a result, the computing system may transmit a command to a camera device to capture an image, a burst of images, start/stop video recording, or like commands for image and video operations, based on a human user's detected brainwave state. Further processing, detection, and training methods for brainwave control of camera operations are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9690184
Abstract: A rotatable video surveillance system is configured with a drive mechanism that rotates a bracket for a camera up to 360 degrees. The drive mechanism comprises a plurality of gears that rotate a camera back and forth up to at least 180 degrees. The drive mechanism comprises a control arm connecting between the first gear and a second gear, and a third output gear connected to a rotatable bracket. The drive mechanism typically rotates the bracket at a non-linear speed. A switch may be connected to produce back and forth rotation or pause. An electronic control can be used to control the speed of said drive mechanism and/or pan angle and pause. The rotatable surveillance camera covers at least up to 180 degrees. At night, a camera may see 10 to 30 feet, but with a spotlight the camera may see 300? to 600?. Doppler radar range is about 1 mile.

  • Patent number: 9690167
Abstract: An angular velocity sensor detects a shake of an image pickup apparatus and a signal divide unit divides a shake detection signal to output it to each of a first drive amount calculating unit and a second drive amount calculating unit. A first drive amount and a second drive amount are calculated based on the divided shake detection signal to drive each of a first correction lens and a second correction lens. An aberration determination unit changes a limiter used in a drive amount limiting unit based on the first drive amount and the second drive amount so as not to increase the eccentric aberration of an imaging optical system generated by the movement of the two correction lenses. The drive amount limiting unit limits the drive amount based on the limiter set according to the result of the determination for the aberration to correct the image shake while suppressing the eccentric aberration.
