  • Patent number: 5014081
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reproducing subject tone in a photograph in a manner predetermined by the photographer comprises assessing the tonality of the subject with reference to a tonal scale by simultaneously viewing both the subject and the tonal scale through a viewfinder of a camera or a reflected light meter. The exposure parameters of the camera are then adjusted to insure accurate reproduction of the tonality of the subject, as assessed by the photographer with the aid of the tonal scale.

  • Patent number: 4866467
Abstract: A camera is adapted to operate with stored data by sensing the film speed data prepared on the surface of a film cartridge loaded in the camera to produce a data reading signal and reading the sensed film speed data in response to the data reading signal and detecting whether or not the the film loaded in the camera includes film speed data to provide a warning when a determination is made that the film speed data is not on the film cartridge. Film speed data may be loaded in the camera manually and the warning is interrupted in response to the manual setting of the film speed. At least one of the film speed data and the manually set film speed data is stored and the exposure data is calculated on the basis of the stored film speed data.

  • Patent number: 4800409
Abstract: The present invention can be applied to a control device wherein the probability of giving the proper exposure to the primary object photographed is high even when the regions to be found in range within the photographing distance are plural, thereby to being capable of more positively judging the backlight condition, an automatic focus adjusting apparatus capable of more reflecting the photographing intention of the photographer, an exposure control apparatus capable of normally providing the proper exposure amount with respect to the photographed object independently of the distance to the object photographed even when the daylight synchronized flash photographing operation is performed, and a control device which does not need a switching circuit and the switching operation by it.
