Abstract: An expansion joint control system wherein a blockout is formed between structural members such as a floor or wall and a gap allowing for expansion and contraction is defined between the structural members. The blockout defines opposed vertical faces and inwardly extending transverse surfaces with a flexible membrane spanning the distance between vertical faces. A slide plate is attached beneath the center of the membrane. Base members are positioned on the transverse surfaces for supporting the sides of the membrane and are in sliding contact with the slide plate. The slide plate and base members are formed of polymeric materials preferably having thermal expansion characteristics similar to concrete. The system elements occupy a blockout having a depth of one inch or less. The polymeric material can be readily bent on site making the system particularly useful for stadiums, etc. which have continuously changing elevations.
Abstract: A protective door jamb system integrally connected to a door frame. The door jamb system of the present invention includes both a door stop and jamb cladding each manufactured from an extruded plastic product such as hollow rigid plastic, cellular plastic, granular filled plastic or fiber filled plastic. The door stop and jamb clad are each designed to attach to a door jamb substrate through compression deflected fingers. The door jamb system of the present invention may also include a weather strip to ensure a weather-tight seal of a door when the door is closed into the frame. The jamb clad of the present invention covers the recessed portion of the door jamb substrate adjacent the jamb to completely cover the substrate and thereby increase both the structural and aesthetic integrity of the frame.

Abstract: A waterproofing system and method for hydraulic structures which includes rigid sheets of synthetic material connected with flexible hinges made of sheets of synthetic material. Mechanical anchoring hold the rigid sheets in place.
Abstract: An improved door jamb and brickmold assembly has a rectangular wooden jamb and a unitary co-extruded thermoplastic member mounted to said jamb and defining both the door stop and the brickmold of the assembly. In one embodiment, an elongated securing tab projects from the brickmold and is positioned to overly the exterior surface of a building in which the assembly is mounted for securing the brickmold to the building.
Abstract: An anti-tip device is provided for an appliance in the form of a first bracket secured to a floor and having an open-ended slot for receiving a support leg of the appliance. A second bracket is secured to the first bracket and is capable of engaging an interlock switch of an appliance. The engagement of the interlock switch by the second bracket is indicative of proper installation of the appliance. Further, use of the appliance is prevented by improper installation using the control circuitry of the appliance connected to the interlock switch.
