  • Patent number: 5483771
Abstract: A modification of the Z-bar mount portion of the door hinge mount to raise the hinge mount flat portion at its upper portion where the curvilinear bridge piece is located between the insulating mount portion and the hinge portion to extend the extrusion to form a cover stop around the hinge to a point essentially flush with a plane perpendicular to the door lateral edge and overlying the hinge is disclosed. This produces a rounded pleasing cover stop which masks the hinge from the exterior. Also, it inhibits the door from opening at an angle more than 90.degree. from the closed position, which with the pneumatic closer and safety chain produces a three-way redundant system to resist the door blowing off its mount or hinge. In addition, it further blocks the access of strong winds from penetrating the areas between the knuckles of the hinge and the space between the door and mount.

  • Patent number: 5479751
Abstract: An improved wood substitute product (56) is provided having sawability and fastener-holding properties which approximate natural wood. The product (56) includes an outermost casing (20) preformed to a desired shape and filled with a cementitious fill material (55) including respective amounts of cement and synthetic resin foam. In fabrication procedures, the casing (20) is first formed as a hollow tubular body by roll forming, rotational molding or similar techniques, whereupon the body is temporarily capped and filled with the material (55). A filling device (28) is preferably employed for this purpose, which includes a pumping assembly (32) as well as an elongated horn (30), which is complemental with the casing (20).

  • Patent number: 5473851
Abstract: A limestone veneer system for exterior and interior walls of buildings including anchors secured along the foundation, dry wall sheathing, and cornices of the buildings. The anchors engage edge slots in limestone panel and molding members forming the veneer system. Base panels and molding form a water table section of the veneer. Wall panels in horizontal vertically spaced rows comprise the limestone veneer over the wallboards of the building. An entablature formed by cornice molding members, frieze molding, and architraves of limestone are attached by the anchors to the wallboard and cornice sheathing. The limestone members are supported in spaced relation from the building wallboards and may include joints sealed by plastic caulking members.

  • Patent number: 5463834
Abstract: A ground attaching assembly for confining an attached object to a limited distance from a predetermined ground position includes an elongated stake member having a ground penetrating end and a driven impact end spaced from the penetrating end. The driven impact end is capable of receiving blows from an associated pounding member such as a hammer. An object securing line is connected to the stake member at an attachment position between the penetrating end and the driven impact end, providing space between the attachment position and the impact end whereby the securing line may be spaced from the impact end and thereby be protected from blows from the associated pounding member.
