  • Patent number: 10243866
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes identifying a current packet data transmission credit value assigned to a packet data transmitter. The method includes identifying a value change in the current packet data transmission credit value. The baseline packet transmission credit value is for the packet data transmitter. The method is responsive to the change being a decrease by increasing a transmission opportunity weight for the packet data transmitter. The method is responsive to the change being an increase by decreasing the transmission opportunity weight for the packet data transmitter. The method includes passing to the packet data transmitter a parameter. The parameter directing the packet data transmitter to transmit packet data via data transmission circuitry during a scheduled transmission opportunity. The extent of the parameter is proportional to the transmission opportunity weight.

  • Patent number: 10084718
Abstract: The exemplary embodiments provide an indirect hypercube topology for a datacenter network. The indirect hypercube is formed by providing each host with a multi-port network interface controller (NIC). One port of the NIC is connected to a fat-tree network while another port is connected to a peer host forming a single dimension of an indirect binary n-cube. Hence, the composite topology becomes a hierarchical tree of cubes. The hierarchical tree of cubes topology uses (a) the fat-tree topology to scale to large host count and (b) the indirect binary n-cube topology at the leaves of the fat-tree topology for a tightly coupled high-bandwidth interconnect among a subset of hosts.

  • Patent number: 10084692
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein are directed to streaming bridge design implementations that help interconnect and transfer transaction packets between multiple source and destination host interfaces through a Network on Chip (NoC) interconnect, which includes a plurality of NoC router layers and virtual channels (VCs) connecting the router layers. Implementations are configured to support a variety of different traffic profiles, each having a different set of traffic flows. Streaming bridge design implementation can divide streaming bridge into a streaming TX bridge and a streaming RX bridge, wherein TX bridge is operatively coupled with host TX interfaces and RX bridge is operatively coupled with host RX interfaces, and where TX bridge forwards transaction packets from host TX interfaces to different router layers/VCs of NoC, and RX bridge, on the other hand, receives packets from NoC router layers/VCs and transmits the packets to host RX interfaces based on Quality of Service.

  • Patent number: 10075335
Abstract: In a software defined network, dataplane connectivity is established between a computing device in the network and a controller. The computing device receives a probe packet from the controller, and identifies a port of the computing device through which the probe packet was received. The computing device sets a local route for communication with the controller through the identified port. The computing device then establishes a connection with the controller through the local route. This procedure is reiterated to incrementally expand network connectivity to a plurality of network devices.
