Abstract: Provided are a paper material for fibrous casing enabling a fibrous casing to deliver favorable performance, a production method thereof, and a fibrous casing employing the paper material for fibrous casing. The paper material for fibrous casing of the present invention is used as a food packaging material in heat processing of a foodstuff, and is formed from pulp as a principal component, with one face being a glossy face and another face being a matte face. The fibrous casing of the present invention comprises: a paper layer that is arranged as an innermost layer and formed from a paper material; and a synthetic resin layer that is overlaid on an outer face of the paper layer, the paper material being the paper material for fibrous casing. The matte face of the paper material is preferably directed inward. The glossy face of the paper material is also preferably directed inward.

Abstract: A housing for a portable electronic device is disclosed. The housing is composed of yttria-sensitized zirconia. Yttria-sensitized zirconia has from about 1.5 to about 2.5 mole percent yttria, and more typically about 2 mole percent yttria, and most typically 2 mole percent yttria, in zirconia. Yttria-sensitized zirconia is both tough and able to limit the formation and propagation of micro-cracks. Methods for manufacturing yttria-sensitized zirconia composed housings are also disclosed.

Abstract: A complementary paper tube adapted to fill a remaining space on a cargo pallet includes sidewall portions, a straight auxiliary tearing line and circular auxiliary tearing lines. Abstract: An article is described including an article surface and a coating set comprising an optional tie coating or layer, a barrier coating or layer, and a pH protective layer. The respective coatings or layers can be applied by chemical vapor deposition of a polysiloxane or polysilazane precursor in the presence of oxygen. Examples of such an article are a thermoplastic syringe, vial, or blood collection tube with a coated interior portion containing a pharmaceutical preparation or other fluid with a pH of 4 to 8, alternatively 5 to 9. The barrier coating or layer prevents oxygen from penetrating into the thermoplastic syringe, vial, or blood collection tube. The tie coating or layer, if present, and the pH protective coating or layer protect the barrier layer from the contents of the syringe, vial, or blood collection tube.

Abstract: A composite container having a paperboard hollow body with top and bottom open ends. The body is formed by a sidewall with inner and outer surfaces.
