  • Patent number: 8524345
Abstract: A temporary part is fixed to a base by using an adhesive layer to which fillers are mixed at a predetermined density. When the temporary part is heated, heat is applied to the fillers and the adhesive layer. At a temperature equal to or higher than the glass-transition temperature of the adhesive agent, the heated adhesive layer is thermally contracted so as to release remaining stress, and on the other hand, the heated fillers are thermally expanded. In this manner, the peel-off strength between the adhesive layer and the base (or the temporary part) is reduced, and the disassembly is facilitated.

  • Patent number: 8507062
Abstract: A flexible-to-rigid tube is flexible when routed and is then rigidized to increase burst strength. According to the preferred embodiments of the present invention, the flexible-to-rigid tube is included in a cooling plate assembly for transferring heat from electronic components mounted on a circuit board. In one embodiment, the flexible-to-rigid tube (while in a flexible state) includes a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) or other silicone containing pendant or terminal epoxy, vinyl and/or acrylate functional groups and an initiator (e.g., a sulfonium salt photoinitiator, a free radical photoinitiator, or a thermal initiator). In another embodiment, triallyl isocyanurate (TAIC) and an initiator are incorporated into a conventional PVC-based tubing material. The flexible-to-rigid tube changes from the flexible state to a rigid state via formation of a cross-linked network upon exposure to actinic radiation or heat.

  • Patent number: 8465817
Abstract: A polyester container furnished with a flange part having mechanical strength, transparency, and heat resistance through orientational crystallization, which polyester container exhibits low-temperature heat sealability, is provided by forming a projecting portion at an upper surface of the crystallized flange part, the projecting portion at at least a heat-sealing-face constituting region rendered amorphous or of low crystallinity. Further, in order to suppress the unevenness of the strength of sealing with a cover member and stably attain the high sealability, the projecting portion is deformed at the time of heat sealing with the cover member so as to form a resin piece protruding toward the interior of the container while being substantially appressed against the upper surface of an opening rim part. The formed resin piece couples with a sealant layer of the cover member.

  • Patent number: 8440274
Abstract: Electronic devices may have sensitive circuitry. To determine whether an electronic device has been exposed to excessive amounts of moisture, the electronic device may be provided with a moisture indicator. The moisture indicator may have a wicking layer of white paper and a red dye layer. If a portion of the moisture indicator is exposed to moisture, red dye may bleed into the white paper. The moisture indicator may be mounted in an input-output port opening or other portion of the electronic device where the state of the moisture indicator is visible. The moisture indicator may have sealed edges to reduce sensitivity to small amounts of moisture intrusion. Different regions of the moisture indicator may be provided with different sensitivities by forming structures that have altered moisture flow properties, by altering wicking layer thicknesses, or by otherwise spatially modifying moisture sensitivity.
