  • Patent number: 11082789
Abstract: One example method involves operations for receiving input to transform audio to a target style. Operations further include providing the audio to a predictive model trained to transform the audio into produced audio. Training the predictive model includes accessing representations of audios and unpaired audios. Further, training includes generating feature embeddings by extracting features from representations of an audio and an unpaired audio. The unpaired audio includes a reference production style, and the feature embeddings correspond to their representations. Training further includes generating a feature vector by comparing the feature embeddings using a comparison model. Further, training includes computing prediction parameters using a learned function. The prediction parameters can transform the feature vector into the reference style. Training further includes updating the predictive model with the prediction parameters.

  • Patent number: 11057720
Abstract: Presented herein are techniques for adapting settings/operations of a remote microphone device associated with an auditory prosthesis based on a desired/preferred listening direction of a recipient of the auditory prosthesis. More specifically, an auditory prosthesis worn by a recipient and a remote microphone device, which are configured to wirelessly communicate with one another, are both positioned in the same spatial area. At least one of a recipient-specified (e.g., recipient-preferred) region of interest within the spatial area, or a recipient-specified listening direction, is determined. Based on a determined relative positioning (e.g., location and orientation) of the remote microphone device and the auditory prosthesis, operation of the remote microphone device is dynamically adapted so that the remote microphone device can focus on (e.g., have increased sensitivity to) sounds originating from the recipient-specified region of interest/listening direction.

  • Patent number: 11025985
Abstract: Metadata for highlights of audiovisual content depicting a sporting event or other event are extracted from audiovisual content. The highlights may be segments of the content, such as a broadcast of a sporting event, that are of particular interest. Audio data for the audiovisual content is stored, and portions of the audio data indicating crowd excitement (noise) is automatically identified by analyzing an audio signal in the joint time and frequency domains. Multiple indicators are derived and subsequently processed to detect, validate, and render occurrences of crowd noise. Metadata are automatically generated, including time of occurrence, level of noise (excitement), and duration of cheering. Metadata may be stored, comprising at least a time index indicating a time, within the audiovisual content, at which each of the portions occurs. Periods of intense crowd noise may be used to identify highlights and/or to indicate crowd excitement during viewing of a highlight.

  • Patent number: 10978081
Abstract: A system may embed audio watermarks in audio data using a sign sequence. The system may detect audio watermarks in audio data despite the effects of reverberation. For example, the system may embed multiple repetitions of an audio watermark before generating output audio using loudspeaker(s). To detect the audio watermark in audio data generated by a microphone, the system may perform a self-correlation that indicates where the audio watermark is repeated. In some examples, the system may encode the audio watermark using multiple repetitions of a multi-segment Eigenvector. Additionally or alternatively, the system may encode the audio watermark using a binary sequence of positive and negative values, which may be used as a shared key for encoding/decoding the audio watermark. The audio watermark can be embedded in output audio data to enable wakeword suppression (e.g., avoid cross-talk between devices) and/or local signal transmission between devices in proximity to each other.
