Abstract: Apparatus and methods for premises device identification and characterization. In one embodiment, the premises devices are IoT (“internet of things”) devices having wireless interfaces, and the disclosed apparatus and methods “passively” canvass or assess a given premises as to its IoT profile, including both transparent and proxy-managed installations via a software-defined radio (SDR) device incorporated into a host device at the premises (e.g., DOCSIS modem, DSTB, wireless AP/router, or gateway). The SDR is controlled by logic operative to run on the host device (and optionally a network-side process), enabling the SDR to scan the RF environment within the premises in particular frequency bands typically associated with IoT devices and protocols. Information regarding each particular device is transmit to a network-side management process for use in populating the user's cloud-based EPG, selectively targeting advertising or other content to the premises, or yet other functions.

Abstract: Sparse reference signal-related signaling, for a wireless channel that is associated with multiple antenna ports, is communicated with a User Equipment (UE). The sparse reference signal-related signaling is consistent with a sparse signaling pattern. In an embodiment, the sparse signaling pattern includes reference signal-related signaling associated with each of the antenna ports, and has been determined based on previous reference signal-related signaling previously communicated with the UE or another UE. In another embodiment, the sparse reference signal-related signaling is consistent with a varying sparse signaling pattern that is based on previous reference signal-related signaling previously communicated with the UE or another UE.

Abstract: To effectively operate in an increasingly prolific Internet of Things environment one best has the ability to message, whether messaging device status, actions taken, recommendations for actions or other information to those with a need to know or containing instructions for device execution. Traditional messaging of various types such as texting and e-mail typically are limited in that they can neither provide automatic audio output at the recipient nor can they may be automatically relayed or contain execution instructions for target devices. The present invention is an Appliance that communicates with other IoT devices such as sensors and actuators and regional or central servers using Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) or Normal Power Wide Area Network (NPWAN) protocols that provides Extended-Capability Messaging provides these capabilities that can include artificial intelligence and optionally configured in a secure version.

  • Patent number: 11956806
Abstract: In an embodiment, a UE transmits an on-demand PRS request for PRS(s) on selected frequency-domain resource(s) (e.g., frequency layer, frequency band, CC, etc.). In another embodiment, a UE receives, from a network component (e.g., BS, core network component, LMF, location server, etc.), configuration of frequency-domain resources (e.g., frequency layer, frequency band, CC, etc.), wherein each frequency-domain resource configuration is associated with a bandwidth and SCS. The UE further receives, from the network component, configuration of PRS(s), wherein each PRS is associated with a single frequency-domain resource from the frequency-domain resources. The UE determines a single reference TRP for each of the frequency-domain resources, performs PRS measurements on the PRS(s), and determines positioning measurements at least based on the PRS measurements and the determined reference TRPs.

  • Patent number: 11936451
Abstract: Multi-beamwidth radio frequency (RF) beamforming optimization in a wireless communications apparatus is disclosed. The wireless communications apparatus includes a signal processing circuit configured to process an RF communications signal for radiation in a set of RF beams optimized to maximize coverage in a wireless communications cell. In examples disclosed herein, the set of RF beams includes a center RF beam and a number of edge RF beams. Specifically, the center RF beam is formed with a wider beamwidth to cover a larger center area of the wireless communications cell and, the edge RF beams are each formed with a narrower beamwidth to improve coverage in an edge area of the wireless communications cell. As a result, it may be possible to maximize coverage in the wireless communications cell with fewer RF beams, thus helping to reduce computational complexity, processing latency, and energy consumption of the wireless communications apparatus.

  • Patent number: 11928635
Abstract: A processor-implemented method includes receiving, from a mobile device, transmission information corresponding to an audio data transmission associated with an audio data packet loss of one or more audio data packets. The processor determines, based at least in part on the transmission information, a geographic region associated with a wireless communication network transceiver. The processor further determines an average audio data packet loss rate associated with the geographic region and a correlation between the audio data packet loss and at least one key performance indicator (KPI).
