  • Patent number: 11351487
Abstract: There is provided a filter for filtering particles in a container of fluid. The filter comprises a flow director comprising a hub, a plurality of radial blades extending from the hub and a plurality of vanes concentric about the hub. The blades and the vanes intersect to form a grid which collectively define a plurality of openings, each opening extending between a first face and a second face, where a cross-sectional area of each opening decreases from the first face to the second face. The filter further includes a skirt coupled to the perimeter of the flow director for maintaining the flow director in spaced relation from a bottom of the container. The decrease in cross-sectional area of the openings in the grid helps to prevent particles from travelling from a position below the flow director to a position above the flow director.

Abstract: A water separation group is for a fuel filtration and separation assembly of a vehicle fuel circulation system. The assembly includes an assembly casing extending along a longitudinal axis positionable in the vehicle in a horizontal position and accommodating a filtration group for filtering dirty fuel. The water separation group is positionable in the assembly casing in fluidic connection with the filtration group and extends along a main axis parallel to and/or coincident with the longitudinal axis. The water separation group includes a separator and a blocking device below the separator to prevent return of separated water to the separator. The blocking device includes a blocking surface extending longitudinally forming an angle with the direction of the main axis that inclines at least a portion of the blocking surface to allow water separated from the fuel to flow towards the wall from which the blocking surface extends.

  • Patent number: 11268483
Abstract: A valve member having a first flow path and a second flow path, and configured to control both flow paths through a filter assembly. The valve member allows control of the two flow streams in a compact space compared to traditional valves. The valve member may require less space to operate due to its compact nature as compared to traditional external valves with multiple handles that each require space to rotate. The valve member may also be used to easily shut-off flow to a filter of a filter assembly without limiting use of another filtration assembly in the same filtration system. Alternatively, the valve member may shut off flow to a corresponding filter of a stand-alone filter assembly that is not connected to another filter assembly. Also, the valve member allows less expensive and more lightweight filtration systems.

  • Patent number: 11260327
Abstract: A filter assembly has a threaded cover that mates with a complementary thread on the filter housing. Rotation of the housing cover in a first direction moves the cover axially away from the housing, and rotation of the housing cover in a second direction opposite the first direction moves the cover axially toward the housing. An intermittent coupling between a filter housing cover and a filter element applies intermittent axial forces to the filter element as the housing cover is rotated in the first direction to separate the filter element from the housing along with the cover. The intermittent coupling includes components on the inside of the filter cover that engage with complementary components on the filter element during each revolution of the cover.
