Abstract: A protective pad assembly especially shaped to fit over the palm of the hand to protect the median nerve. A pair of straps extend in opposite directions from opposite edges of the patch and can be folded behind the hand to hold the patch against the palm. One or more flexible resilient pad units are positioned flush against and in register with the patch. Fastener means are provided on the opposing faces of the patch and pad units for releasably securing those elements in face-to-face contact so that they form a compact sandwich structure.
Abstract: An upper cloth feed in a sewing machine comprises a presser foot and an upper cloth feed foot, each connected over a linkage with a feeding and lifting drive. The drive is connected over a connecting member with a substantially vertically moving carrier for the presser foot. A spring acts on the connecting member, and an idle stroke connection is provided inside the lifting drive. For the adjustable distribution of the pressure force on the two sewing feet, the force of the spring acting on the substantially horizontally moving connecting member is variable. In order to obtain a simple constructional design, the spring presses over a pressure rod on a pressure piece mounted for displacement on the connecting member.
Abstract: A four-in-hand necktie adapted to be hand-tied in the usual manner, but being divided intermediate its ends into two sections joined by a separable fastener so positioned as to be disposed in the neck band portion of the necktie when it is tied, whereby once it is tied, it can be applied or removed by use of the fastener, leaving the knot tied at all times. The fastener is of a special construction adapting it for use in converting any pre-existing four-in-hand necktie to snap-on usage.
