    Abstract: A method of storing and supplying a gaseous hydrogen product to a pipeline under a product purity specification in which a hydrogen stream made up of gaseous hydrogen is compressed to form a compressed hydrogen stream and introduced into a salt cavern for storage. A crude hydrogen stream, contaminated from storage in the salt cavern is recovered and purified by sufficiently removing at least carbon dioxide and water vapor to produce a hydrogen product stream having an impurity level at or below the product purity specification. The hydrogen product stream is supplied back to the pipeline. Alternatively, during periods of low demand, hydrogen produced by a production facility is both purified and supplied to the pipeline and stored in the salt cavern. During high demand period, both the output of the production facility and hydrogen retrieved from the salt cavern are purified and supplied to the pipeline.

    Abstract: Cyclic phosphonitrilic halides are formed rapidly and in high yield in a controllable multi-step process including the step of reacting a nitrogenous base (e.g. pyridine) with a phosphorus tetrahalide (e.g. phosphorus pentachloride) in a suitable inert liquid reaction medium (e.g. monochlorobenzene) to form a complex and in a subsequent step reacting this complex with an ammonium halide (e.g. ammonium chloride) at a temperature above about 90.degree. C. up to the reflux temperature of the reaction medium to form cyclic phosphonitrilic halides, mainly trimer.

    Abstract: In a process for the production of hydrogen-rich gas from a gas containing hydrogen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and other components by contacting the gas in a formate synthesis zone with an aqueous solution containing alkali metal carbonate and/or bicarbonate under conditions effective to produce an effluent aqueous solution containing the corresponding formate and an effluent gas containing the other components of the gas, and thereafter catalytically decomposing the formate in a formate decomposition zone under conditions effective to produce a hydrogen-rich gas and an aqueous solution which contains alkali metal carbonate and/or bicarbonate, the improvement comprising further contacting the gas and the aqueous solution in a catalytic formate synthesis zone prior to decomposing the formate.
