Abstract: A method for execution by a storage unit of a dispersed storage network includes receiving a proxied data access request regarding an encoded data slice from another storage unit of the DSN, where the encoded data slice is stored in the storage unit according to a distributed agreement protocol. The method continues with determining whether the other storage unit is an authentic storage unit of the DSN. When the other storage unit is the authentic storage unit, the method continues with processing the proxied data access request to produce a data access response. The method continues with sending the data access response to the other storage unit.

Abstract: The disclosed computer-implemented method for producing access control list caches including effective information access permissions across disparate storage devices may include (i) receiving, at a computing device, an instruction to prepare an access control list (ACL) cache and (ii) performing a security action. The security action may include (A) recursively parsing, at the computing device, at least one respective ACL for information stored on at least two disparate storage devices, (B) identifying, at each step of recursion, each direct user and each indirect user having information access permissions in at least one of the respective ACLs, (C) determining, for each unique user in the respective ACLs, per-control point effective permissions, and (D) storing the per-control point effective information access permissions in the ACL cache. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for implementing sequence data based temporal behavior analysis (SDTBA) to extract features for characterizing temporal behavior of network traffic are provided. The method includes extracting communication and profile data associated with one or more devices to determine sequences of data associated with the devices. The method includes generating temporal features to model anomalous network traffic. The method also includes inputting, into an anomaly detection process for anomalous network traffic, the temporal features and the sequences of data associated with the devices and formulating a list of prediction results of anomalous network traffic associated with the devices.

Abstract: A text conversation between at least two users is monitored. A first regarding a first topic is detected. A second message received subsequent to the first message regarding a second topic is detected. A third message received subsequent to the second message regarding the first topic is detected. In response to detecting that the third message regards the first topic of the first message, the third message may be displayed immediately adjacent the first message.

Abstract: Generating talking points on behalf of a user and providing the talking points to the user is provided. Talking points can help users to quickly and easily start a personalized conversation that enables participants of the conversation to make a connection, thus eliciting better communication and collaboration. Talking points can be generated based on commitments or requests identified in a previous conversation, anomalies or patterns identified in context data, or information items of interest collected from various data sources. One or more top-ranking talking points are surfaced to the user to help the user start a new conversation or to continue a previous conversation.

In one aspect, a computer-implemented method includes: receiving, by a computing system and from a client device associated with a particular transferor, a request for a transfer initiation interface; determining, based on a transfer history for the particular transferor, a size of an initial part of a multi-part transfer; and providing, to the client device, the transfer initiation interface, the transfer initiation interface indicating the size of the initial part of the multi-part transfer and including a selectable option to initiate the transfer of the initial part of the multi-part transfer.

Abstract: A cyber attack evaluation method includes transmitting, based on first domain information included in cyber attack information, an inquiry about whether a first IP address associated with the first domain information is stored to a first management server configured to store associations between domain information and IP addresses, transmitting another inquiry about a first answer history related to the first domain information to a second management server configured to store answer histories of the first management server by monitoring communication of the first management server, the answer histories being related to the associations between the domain information and the IP addresses, and outputting, based on an answer of the inquiry acquired from the first management server and the first answer history acquired from the second management server, a result of diagnosing threat content of a cyber attack related to the first domain information.

Abstract: A system for filtering device information to be provided to a user by a digital device or system according to physiological information collected from the user. The physiological information may be used to determine the user's present cognitive stress, wherein the device information may be prioritized, withheld, delayed, or deleted if the present cognitive stress exceeds a predetermined threshold. The device information may be further evaluated with contextual information such as different aspects of the device information or non-physiological user information (e.g. location, time of the day). The system may manage device information with minimal or less user interaction than user defined rule systems.

Abstract: Technologies are disclosed for identifying converged conversation threads. A number of the most recent messages in a conversation thread are selected. Selected messages that are action messages or query messages are identified. Scores are then assigned to the action and query messages. A determination is then made as to whether the conversation thread is converged or non-converged based upon the scores. Data is then stored that indicates that the conversation thread is converged or non-converged. The stored data can be used to locate converged or non-converged threads and identify the threads in a UI as such.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems, non-transitory computer-readable media, and methods for generating and maintaining group messaging threads associated with ephemeral content. For instance, the disclosed systems can facilitate the creation of ephemeral content including a customizable group messaging graphical element associated with the ephemeral content the enables users to join a group messaging thread associated with the ephemeral content. In addition, the disclosed systems can generate user requests to join the group messaging thread based on user interaction with a group messaging graphical element within ephemeral content and can present the requests to the creator of the ephemeral content. Accordingly, in various embodiments, the disclosed systems can facilitate group messaging threads between creators of ephemeral content and users that view the ephemeral content via associated group messaging graphical elements.

Abstract: Functionality is disclosed for providing status updates for email threads. A personal information management (PIM) server application receive a first message and a second message. The PIM server application can extract a first status value from the first message and a second status value from the second message, and can generate a status notification message that includes one or both of the first status value or the second status value. The PIM server application can also receive a third message subsequent to the first and second messages, and extract a third status value from the third message. Subsequently, the status notification message can be updated by replacing the first status value or the second status value with the third status value in the status notification message. In this manner, the status notification message can provide a consolidated view of the latest status of multiple email threads.

Abstract: A system and method for dispatching messages from a user to at least one recipient over a telecommunications network is disclosed. The system includes a messaging system and an authentication system. The messaging system receives user messages, retrieves contact information for recipients on a user's contact list, and attempts to deliver messages to recipients on the list. The system may continue attempting to deliver messages to recipients until it finds a recipient who is available to receive the message. The authentication system is used to ensure the recipient is a person and not a machine. The messages could be audio messages delivered using a telephone network or messages delivered over an SMS network.

Abstract: A computer implemented method of pre-emptively blocking an electronic communication is provided. The computer implemented method includes inputting an electronic communication history, wherein the electronic communication history includes a plurality of electronic communications and a set of corresponding recipients for each of the plurality of electronic communications. The computer implemented method further includes normalizing the plurality of electronic communications, and extracting a topic from each of the plurality of electronic communications. The computer implemented method further includes clustering the plurality of electronic communications according to the extracted topics, and digesting the plurality of electronic communication to form a positive learning data set and a negative learning data set to train a neural network.

Abstract: A system to collect and store in a special data structure arranged for rapid searching massive amounts of data. Performance metric data is one example. The performance metric data is recorded in time-series measurements, converted into unicode, and arranged into a special data structure having one directory for every day which stores all the metric data collected that day. The data structure at the server where analysis is done has a subdirectory for every resource type. Each subdirectory contains text files of performance metric data values measured for attributes in a group of attributes to which said text file is dedicated. Each attribute has its own section and the performance metric data values are recorded in time series as unicode hex numbers. Analysis of the performance metric data is done using regular expressions. Performance metric data outside the start time and end time named by the user on a query screen is eliminated before the regular expression is applied.

Requests for allocation of computer device resources such as data storage and data traffic per period may be sent out by a user terminal, and allocations of resources for sharing may be made according to one or more predetermined rules.

Abstract: E-mail synchronization may involve synchronization of data types, such as a unique identifier (UID), flag, header, and content. Upon identifying a trigger (e.g., user input) to receive a plurality of messages, a client device an implement an optimized retrieval scheme. This retrieval scheme may involve retrieval of multiple data types (e.g., UIDs, flag(s), and text) for one group of messages before those data types are retrieved for other groups of messages. Retrieval schemes can be determined and dynamically adjusted based on user input so as to provide quicker retrieval of certain data of certain messages. Retrieval schemes can also be optimized when multiple mailboxes are present.
