Abstract: The present invention concerns a display means.This display means comprises a thin, light pivoting flap (5) with two principal surfaces (6, 6') and a rotating stepping motor (13). The motor drives the shutter by means of an elastic device (16) which times motor acceleration. A predetermined number of motor steps corresponds to one complete rotation of the flap.The display means is used to form large display units for train stations, airports, etc.

Abstract: The invention relates to a securing arrangement for securing an article, for example a painting in a frame, to a wall or surface. Engagement means are provided and are adapted to be mounted on or secured to the article. Mounting means are provided and are adapted to be attached to a wall or surface to which the article is to be mounted. The mounting means includes a location portion, such as for example a bore. The engagement means passes into the location portion to locate the engagement means and article relative to the mounting means and wall or surface. In one form the arrangement includes locking means to prevent unauthorized or desired removal of said article from said wall or surface.

Coupling components are included for coupling the actuator to the follower magnetically so that the follower follows actuator movement, and indicator components responsive to the follower being in the first follower position indicate that a predetermined sign applies.

Abstract: A portable impact-resistant athletic numerical indicator display produces highly visible numerals for observation by athletic participants and spectators. The display is provided with a series of shiftable component numeral panels which are connected to a selector lever by a coupling device including a stationary, slotted bar and yoke. The desired numeral to be displayed is presented behind a transparent face in the body by shifting the corresponding selector lever from a first position to a second position to compose the numeral to be displayed from the component panels. The display is conventionally used in contact sports such as football and is constructed to withstand impact with a player or the ground. The display is preferably mounted on a pole and is provided with a layer of padding to protect the playes from injury.

Abstract: A lighting system for a translucent plastic car top sign having three side panels forming a truncated triangular pyramid and a top is disclosed. A convex reflector surface depends from the top and has three electric lamps oriented to be aligned with the apexes of the triangular pyramid such that each panel is illuminated by overlapping of direct and reflected light from the lamps. A translucent diffuser dome may be disposed over the reflector and lamps.

Abstract: A numerical display especially for use as a down marker in football games. The numbers which are displayed are painted on sets of slats which slide up and down by operation of finger levers connected to the slats by a special linkage. The slats slide behind other slats in a concealed position and are visible in an exposed position through transparent windows of a padded housing which encloses the operating components. A frictional detent retains the levers in place to prevent inadvertent slipping of the number which is displayed.

A frame assembly with four side walls and a top wall of suitable dimensions to display the plate is covered with a back cover member that includes several lighting fixtures mounted thereon for uniform back lighting of the translucent portion of the plate being displayed. Abstract: A message center comprises a housing having a plurality of compartments each of which would correspond to a particular individual. The front wall of the housing includes a plurality of openings one for each compartment to provide access to the compartment. Each compartment is provided with a pivotally mounted plate which may be selectively moved to and from a generally horizontal position and a generally vertical position. When the plate is in the generally horizontal position it functions as the floor of its compartment. When the plate is in its generally vertical position it closes the opening and functions as a door to its compartment.

Abstract: An identification device for a necked container includes a ring-like base structure that is installed about a container neck, and indicia that is carried by the base structure for presenting container data. Preferably the indicia includes presentations of container data that are manually and machine readable. Preferably the indicia is protected from harm by a transparent cover. In one embodiment the identification device has inwardly extending fingers to establish a secure mounting about the neck of the container on which it is mounted. In another embodiment, locking pins are used to establish a secure mounting.

Abstract: A sign display device for use in vehicles such as automobiles comprising a variable height sign holder extendibly mounted on a housing or frame which has an attachment means for holding the display device on a vehicle door or similar structure. The variable height sign holder is a manually extendible structure preferably comprising a series of pairs of lever arms pivotally fastened together in the center on the ends to adjacent pairs so as to form a scissors action structure. An actuation handle is mounted on one end of the pairs of lever arms to move the ends closer together and extend the sign holder. A sign or card holder frame is positioned on an upper end of the pairs of lever arms for holding the signs to be displayed by, or stored in, the display device.

The legs are movable from a stored position generally adjacent the elongate rod to a deployed position in which they extend uniformly and obliquely away from the rod and engage the ground. Suitable structures for receiving the elongate rod support and securing the frame thereto form a portion of the frame. The frame includes a pair of preferably equal length arms pivotally interconnected at their mid points and a sign receiving device disposed on one end of each arm. The ends of the arms are interconnected by a pair of shorter pivoted arms.
