Abstract: A detachable waistband for a garment consisting of a first band which matingly engages a second band. Each band is formed of two parallel elongate strips of conjoined material. Each band has an exterior surface, a first end, a second end, and an interior surface accessible through a flap-like opening positioned intermediate the first end and the second end and extending for substantially the length of the first band. An exterior tape fastener is affixed to the exterior of each hand adjacent both the first end and the second end. At least one interior tape fastener is affixed to the interior of each band. The exterior tape fasteners of the second band matingly engage the exterior tape fasteners of the first band thereby securing the first band and second band around a person's waist. The interior of the first band and the interior of the second band receive a portion of a garment.

Abstract: A combination napkin and sleeve or forearm protector comprised of an absorbent and flexible disposable paper sheet rectangular in shape when laid out flat and being press-pleated on one side to form a trapezoidal shaped sheet or napkin having press pleats on the narrow side to be worn as a lower arm or sleeve protector. The napkin/protector has adhesive tab or hook and loop type fasteners at the corners adjacent the narrow side. When worn on a wrist by a wearer the napkin is conical in shape flaring upward toward the wearers elbow with the fasteners at the wearers wrist so as to provide coverage protection from exposure to any undesirable element to the forearm or clothing of the wearer.The napkin may be constructed of heavier materials or reusable cloth material as desired with additional fasteners on the sides of the protector to attach the protector to the arm of the wearer up to the elbow.When not worn by a wearer the napkin/sleeve protector can be used as a napkin.

Abstract: An apparatus for controlling a selectable knitting machine mechanism such as needle selection mechanism or a yarn feed changeover mechanism in a knitting machine having a rotating knitting machine component such as a needle cylinder, a cam box, or a dial is disclosed. The apparatus includes at least one sensor for detecting the rotational speed of the knitting machine component and generating a periodic signal therefrom. A control mechanism cooperates with the sensor and generates a control signal to the selectable knitting machine mechanism responsive to a predetermined trigger point of the periodic signal. The control mechanism includes a mechanism for delaying the predetermined trigger point when the rotational speed of the knitting machine component is relatively slow and for advancing the predetermined trigger point when the rotational speed of the knitting machine is relatively fast. The control mechanism includes a phase-control, frequency/voltage converter.

Abstract: A compound needle has a needle member and a two-part closing element. The needle member has a head at a front end of the needle. The closing element is mounted on the needle member so as to be longitudinally displaceable with respect to the needle member and cooperate with the head. A first part of the closing element includes a shank, a beard on the shank and an anchoring butt formed on an end region of the shank remote from the beard. A second part of the closing member follows the first part in the longitudinal direction and has a control butt and a brake spring. The second part also has a housing section which receives at least the end region of the shank. The first and second parts are undetachably and rigidly connected together in a region of the anchoring butt.

Abstract: The invention relates to a plush or pile knitted fabric comprising a basic knit including a multiplicity of courses and plush yarns or pile fibres which are bound into the basic knit. The basic knit comprises a plain knit formed with at least one basic yarn (1). In accordance with the invention at least one second basic yarn (5) is incorporated into each course in such a way that it is knitted to form stitches (19) at least in selected courses formed with the first basic yarn (1), or forms single-yarn float loops (7) which are disposed between same.

Abstract: The versatile patient gown of the present invention provides access to the entire torso, front or back without removing the gown by opening the releasable butterfly sleeve closures and cotton ties. The gown has multiple uses as a regular patient gown, a surgical gown; it can be used in intensive care by opening a sleeve for I.V.'s, etc.; for critical care using a telemeter unit placeable in a front pocket which has a buttonhole to pass the lead into the body; for radiology by using exclusively VELCRO closures and cotton ties; for mammography and for neonatal care by exposing the breast or chest without removing the entire gown.

Abstract: A heald singularizing system includes a selecting member (21) for the healds (LI) fed in the form of a stack (LS). The selecting member (21) separates the front-most heald (LI1) from the stack and makes it available for the drawing-in of the warp threads. The selecting member (21) is formed by a piston which can perform a stroke essentially transversely to the heald stack (LS), during which the heald (LI1) is displaced from the heald stack (LS) into an intermediate position (ZP). Transfer means (24) transfers the respective heald (LI1) from its intermediate position (ZP) to a transport unit (25) for taking it to its drawing-in position. All types of healds can be selected from the heald stack, and neither a special preparation of the healds nor the use of a special type of heald is necessary. The heald separation and the further removal are completely uncoupled, to permit the use of means optimally adapted to the individual functions and also to simplify considerably the rectification of faults.

Abstract: Providing highly visible, readily identifiable indicia on the rear surface of a golf glove in association with the knuckle area, a unique and highly useful golf glove is attained which enables a golfer to immediately realize the position of his knuckles on the shaft of the golf club and know whether the desired position has been realized. In the preferred embodiment, the indicia comprise markings or patches mounted to the golf glove and are constructed in varying sizes, enabling the indicia to be arranged in a graduated configuration to further enhance the immediate recognition and identification of the position of the knuckles on the club shaft. In a further embodiment, the golf glove of the present invention also comprises relief zones, for enabling the golfer to comfortably wear any and all rings on the fingers of the user throughout the golf game, and indicia formed on the inside surface of the glove for assisting the golfer in attaining the proper grip of the golf club shaft.

Abstract: Foil stretching plant comprising a plurality of zones, more particularly a heating zone I, a stretching zone II, a stabilizing zone III and a cooling zone IV. The individual zones I, II, III and IV are designed as modules which can be installed and removed individually. Of these, at least the module designed as a stretching zone II can be installed upside down and can succeed in upside down position a first stretching zone II. In that arrangement the second stretching module can replace a stabilizing zone III.

Abstract: Goggles having an extrusion-mounted lens, wherein the lens is mounted to the goggle frame using an extruded flexible member provided with a frame slot and a lens slot. In a preferred embodiment the lens slot and frame slot are parallel to each other and are sufficiently deep to removably mount on the inside edge of the frame and the outside edge of the lens and facilitate interchanging various lenses. Alternatively, glue may be applied to the frame slot and lens slot for permanently mounting the lens in the frame.

Abstract: This garment for a woman who has a need to breast feed an infant may be in the form of a hospital gown, blouse, dress, or any other type of upper body covering clothing normally worn by a woman. The garment, made of flexible material, has a vertical inwardly facing pleat centered on and along the upper front in the vicinity of the breasts of a wearer. The pleat includes and is formed by a pair of exposed exterior fold lines and a pair of normally hidden interior fold lines, with an inwardly facing pleat face disposed between the interior fold lines. Along a portion of the interior fold lines are normally hidden openings which are positioned to allow an infant access to the breasts of the wearer. A pair of movable breast cover panels are attached along opposite side of the inwardly facing pleat face.

Abstract: Athletic pants comprising in combination a plurality of basic panels extending from an upper edge at the front of the wearer's waistline, downwardly around the wearer's crotch, then upwardly to the back of the wearer's waistline and stitched together from the front waistline to the rear waistline, the basic panels being fabricated of a knit fabrication from extensible yarn; an elastic waistband coupled to the upper edge of the basic panels; a pair of support panels located interior of the basic panels and stitched thereto, the base panels being constructed of a knit fabric from extensible yarn and with the support panels also being constructed of a knit fabric from an extensible yarn with the mesh of the support panels being of a greater elasticity than that of the basic panels; and a pair of pocket panels stitched over the sides of the base panels in an inverted U-shape configuration and with an extensible lower edge having an elastomeric hem at its lower edge thereof.

Abstract: Improving commingling two or more continuous multiple filament yarns into a single yarn by rubbing one yarn against a static charge-inducing body that is supported in an electrically isolated manner to apply static charge to the yarn to tend to cause separation of its individual multiple fliaments. Also disclosed is commingling apparatus in which individual filaments of a multiple filament yarn are spread from each other in an enclosure that contains a source of the multiple filament yarn and has a yarn exit opening through which the filaments leave the enclosure in a separated state, a vacuum source being to connected to an air removal opening so that air flows through and around the yarn at a direction transverse to the yarn to cause apreading of the filaments, the yarn from the source passing through a guide and a weighted dancer whose movements up and down (in response to changes in tension in the yarn) control a positive feed drive for the yarn source.

Abstract: A weight supporting glove has a flap attached thereto near the heel which extends distally toward the fingertips. The flap is equipped with a Velcro or similar type fastener on its distal end which cooperates with a mating Velcro strip on the palm of the glove. In use, the flap is wrapped around the handle of a barbell or similar weight and fastened to the palm of the glove to form a loop which assists in supporting the weight.

Abstract: A garment adapted to be worn by individuals to assist in weight reduction by reducing body fat. The garment is constructed in various sizes for use by various sized individuals and constructed in a model for use by males and a model for use by females. The garment includes readily attachable and detachable components to facilitate use of the garment and to enable certain portions of the human anatomy to be reduced while other portions are not. The garment is constructed of three layers of material with the inner layer being an absorbent fabric such as cotton, the middle or central layer being a flexible moisture impervious sheet such as vinyl and the outer layer being an attractive, breatheable and elastic-type fabric material such as terry cloth or other wash and wear fabric materials with the garment being launderable and effective for maintaining body heat which assists in reduction of body fat during exercise periods and the like.

Abstract: An elongated circular knit tube having a central body and a self contained waistband at each end of said central body is flattened to form a double layer of fabric having two longitudinal folded edges. The body portion is severed to remove selected portions therefrom and to divide the tube into two brief blanks. Coursewise extending severed portions are aligned and subsequently sewn together to form the brief crotch and leg openings.

Abstract: A height adjustable pants finishing device includes a pair of topping bucks positioned in the top portion of a pair of pants to be finished. Waist clamps hold the pants in the desired orientation; then, pressing plates engage pleats to hold the pleats for pressing. Additional pressing plates engage the top portion of the pants for high quality finishing of the top of the pants. The cuffs of the pants are clamped together, and steam is injected into the pants for finishing. After steaming, heated air is passed through the pants to set the creases.

Abstract: Machine setting values containing similar functions are grouped together as a group in a setting value table and as many tables, as present groups, are correlated to machine operating elements. Parameter vectors are obtained from each table, effectuating a predetermined machine setting and the totality of the parameter vectors represent (for instance along a diagram axis) settings for the associated operating element. The group formation of setting values for a fine cleaning machine encompasses, for instance, setting values of the knife or carding element-distance from the beater circle, the point density of the carding element, the clamping distance of the feed trough or funnel from the clothing of the opening roller, and the rotational speed of the opening roller. These setting values are grouped together in a first group and included in a first table for forming parameter vectors for the cleaning intensity.

Abstract: A shield for protecting a catheter while a patient is taking a shower/bath includes a first band for engaging a first portion of the patient's body and having an intermediate portion, a second band for engaging a second portion of the patient's body and having an intermediate portion, a water proof panel spanning between the intermediate portions of the bands, and water absorbent panels on lateral sides of the water proof panel and spanning between the intermediate portions of the bands.

Abstract: A primary object of the present invention is to provide an improved joint structure for a window dummy to ensure that any joints can be easily rotated, turned or bent within a remarkably wide angle, and which shows good appearance. This joint structure comprises a hollow member including two half members each of which is formed with at least one of slidably engaging section capable of slidably engaging each other; and at least two connection members whose one end is fixed to a rod of arm, leg, or the like and the other end is rotatably connected to the other connection member in the hollow member. Further each of the connection member is independently fixed to the half member of the hollow member. One of the connection member is formed with means to prevent from interfering with the other half member fixed with the other connection member.
