  • Patent number: 9969497
Abstract: A system and method for regulating pressure inside a vehicle (“cabin pressure”) is disclosed. The system can include a forward gate and an aft gate that can be moved from a closed position to an open position to release cabin pressure in a controlled manner. The forward gate, the aft gate, or both can comprise an interior cavity and one or more permeable surfaces. When open, or partially open, an airflow can be created by a pressure differential between the cabin pressure and the pressure outside the vehicle (“atmospheric pressure”). At least a portion of the airflow can flow through the one or more permeable surfaces and the hollow cavity of the forward gate, the aft gate, or both to promote laminar flow through the gates and into the atmosphere alongside the vehicle (e.g., an aircraft fuselage). In this manner, flow efficiency can be increased and noise reduced.

  • Patent number: 9915440
Abstract: This device (D) for regulating the air flow in a pipe includes a flap (6) delimiting, relative to an inner surface (104) of a pipe (10) of the device (D), an air passage section (S), and an adjusting calibrating element (8) movable between a first position and a second position. The device includes a sealing wall (12), extending between the calibrating element and an inner surface (106) of the duct (10), suitable for preventing the passage of air from the side of the duct (10) opposite the air passage section (S). The sealing wall (12) is rotatable relative to the pipe (10) under the action of the movement of the calibrating element, and the calibrating element includes a front wall (86) perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (X-X?) of the duct (10) which, in the first position of the calibrating element, does not protrude past the circumference of the duct.

  • Patent number: 9759483
Abstract: A fluid product dryer and related methods. Implementations of a method for drying particles may include: introducing particles through an inlet into a first fluid bed section; migrating the particles onto a bed deck; injecting a gas towards the particles through openings in the bed deck; migrating some of the particles through a variable-sized gate opening between the bed deck and a riser; migrating a portion of the particles into the riser; propelling the portion of the particles in the riser upwards by an injection of a gas into the riser; directing a first fraction of the portion of the particles out of the first fluid bed section and into a second fluid bed section through an outlet using a deflector feature; and directing a second fraction of the portion of the particles onto a bed deck of the second fluid bed section by interaction with an impingement feature.

  • Patent number: 9739534
Abstract: A device for loading and unloading the utility surface (3?) of a drying chamber (2) of a freeze drying system. The device includes a carriage (8) which forms a movable guiding edge for the drying vessels (5), and is moveable on guides (7) disposed on both sides of the utility surface (3) and which extend in parallel with the movement direction and form fixed guiding edges for the drying vessels (5). At least one linear motor is provided to produce a drive for the carriage. All of the components of the device can be located inside the drying chamber (1), and the device of the present invention is suitable for upgrading existing freeze drying systems.

  • Patent number: 9677785
Abstract: A fuel-fired condensing type air heating furnace is provided with an electronic condensate water level sensing system operative to sense improper outflow of condensate from a collector box portion of the furnace and responsively shut down or prevent operation of the furnace. Condensate probe portions of the system are oriented in a manner such that several air flow orientation of the furnace may be utilized without the necessity of relocating the probes or effecting an re-wiring of the water level sensing system.

  • Patent number: 9625176
Abstract: Method of combusting hydrocarbon fuel to form combustion products low in nitrogen dioxide (NO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) and mixing the combustion products with additional air to provide a heated air stream suitable for heating enclosed spaces includes the following steps: (a) delivering a fuel stream to a burner assembly; (b) delivering a combustion air stream to the burner assembly; (c) combining the fuel and air streams within a combustion chamber and heat exchanger wherein the mixture is ignited, completely combusted, and the temperature of the products of combustion are reduced; (d) providing tempering air to the external side of the combustion chamber and heat exchanger to transfer heat away from the combustion gases to tempering air; (e) combining the partially heated tempering air and cooled combustion products low in NO2 and CO; and (f) discharging the mixture into a space to be heated.

  • Patent number: 9617695
Abstract: The present invention is a vertical drier which dries the asphalt road upper structural members like aggregate and like asphalt coating which is desired to be recycled (RAP) and which takes the humidity of said asphalt road upper structural members; and which has a vertical body having an end through which said members are discharged and having another end which is opened to an accumulation compartment; and where the hot air, heated by a heat source, is transferred inside said body. Said drier is characterized by comprising at least one drying box which has a chamber form where the poured members are accumulated in the inner part thereof and which extends orthogonally to the flow direction inside the body; in order to keep the members, which pour inside said body from an inlet part, for certain duration and in order to transfer said members from the outlet part to the accumulation compartment step by step.
