  • Patent number: 9949216
Abstract: This disclosure relates to optimizing power consumption for cellular communication based on transport block size in combination with channel condition measurements via power amplifier biasing. According to one embodiment, an indication of a transport block size to be used for uplink communication with a base station may be received. It may be determined that the transport block size provides more robust communication characteristics than required for current channel conditions. A power amplifier (PA) bias current for uplink communication with the cellular base station may be selected based at least in part on determining that the transport block size provides more robust communication characteristics than required for the current channel conditions. In particular, PA bias current selection may be biased to reduce power consumption at a cost of greater non-linearity based on the transport block size providing more robust communication characteristics than required for the current channel conditions.

  • Patent number: 9942857
Abstract: The present document relates to a method for transmitting and receiving signals by controlling interference on other wireless devices based on actual transmitted power or received power information in a wireless communication system, and an apparatus therefor. To this end, STA 1 receives from STA 2 a frame comprising power information about actual transmitted power or actual received power of STA 2. Through the frame, STA 1 determines transmitted power by correcting the existing transmitted power of STA 1 by using the power information of STA 2 and, when the determined transmitted power of STA 1 is less than or equal to a reference value, transmits signals through the frame.

  • Patent number: 9900843
Abstract: Uplink power control techniques for ultra low latency in Long Term Evolution (LTE) devices are presented. For example, an example method for transmission power control is described that includes determining that a first uplink transmission and a second uplink transmission are scheduled for transmission during a symbol of a subframe. In an aspect, the first uplink transmission has a first transmission time interval (TTI) and a first transmission power and the second uplink transmission has a second TTI, the second TTI being different from the first TTI, and a second transmission power. Furthermore, the method may include determining that a power limitation condition is met for one or both of the first transmission power or the second transmission power and adjusting one or both of the first transmission power or the second transmission power based on a determination that the power limitation condition is met.

  • Patent number: 9854538
Abstract: The objective of the invention is to suppress, in a case of applying the RRH system in an environment having a plurality of cells (multi-cellular environment), the reduction of the throughput of the whole system. A base station, in the RRH system in which a plurality of antenna ports are dispersively placed in each of a plurality of cells, comprises: a selection unit that selects antenna ports, to which user terminals are to connect, from among the antenna ports of the cells in which the user terminals are existent; and a power setting unit that controls the transmission powers of the antenna ports. The selection unit and power setting unit set predetermined conditions for the target SINRs(t) of the user terminals and the transmission powers of the antenna ports, and select the antenna ports for the user terminals and control the transmission powers of the antenna ports such that the smallest one of the values of the SINRs of the user terminals of the plurality of cells is maximized.

  • Patent number: 9800707
Abstract: A mobile device detects use of a headset accessory and, in response, scans for wireless local area network (WLAN) access points that provide a public announcement service. The mobile device will connect with a WLAN access point and proceed to receive public announcement audio which is sent over the headset accessory. Any other audio being played over the headset will either be paused, or reduced in volume while the public announcement audio is played. Alternatively, if no WLAN access point is available, the mobile device can locate a low energy wireless protocol device, and receive public announcements via text message. The WLAN access point and low energy wireless protocol connections are disconnected if the headset accessory is disconnected or no longer in use.

  • Patent number: 9781684
Abstract: Wireless networks share UE location information in order to identify possible inter-network aggressors. If a first network determines, based on the location data it receives from a second network, that one of the first network's UEs may cause excessive interference to one or more of the second network's UEs, the first network grants A-MPR to its UE (e.g., by signaling the UE). The first network's UE can then lower its transmit power in order avoid interfering with the second network's UE.
