When the terminal end of the elongate element wound on a first reel leaves said first reel, the method provides for: the first reel to be moved away from the unwinding device on a first movable carriage; a second reel, successive to the first reel, and mounted on a second movable carriage, to be positioned in place of the first reel; and the terminal end of the elongate element previously wound on the first reel, to be joined to the starting end of the elongate element wound on the second reel.

    Abstract: A meandering correction device for a roll medium includes: a first roll medium conveyance unit; a second roll medium conveyance unit disposed downstream of the first roll medium conveyance unit in a conveyance path for a roll medium; a meandering correction roller located between the first roll medium conveyance unit and the second roll medium conveyance unit in the conveyance path and being vertically downwardly in contact with the roll medium to thereby apply a tension to the roll medium. The meandering correction roller includes a rotational shaft whose direction is changeable. A change in the direction of the rotational shaft causes a position of the roll medium in contact with the meandering correction roller to move in the direction of the rotational shaft.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method for loading material may utilize an unwind apparatus and a loading apparatus. The unwind apparatus may include a frame and a mandrel. The mandrel may be adapted to receive a spool including a core and a strand of material. The mandrel may be associated with a mandrel support member, which provides support. The loading apparatus includes a base member and a loading shaft having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion. The proximal end portion may be connected with the base member and the distal end portion may be configured to engage the mandrel. The loading shaft may support a replacement spool including a core and a strand of material wound around the core. When the loading shaft is engaged with the mandrel, the core of the replacement spool is movable from the loading shaft to the mandrel.
