  • Patent number: 10013143
Abstract: A technology is described for interfacing with a computing application using a multi-digit sensor. A method may include obtaining an initial stroke using a single digit of a user on the multi-digit sensor. A direction change point for the initial stroke can be identified. At the direction change point for the initial stroke, a number of additional digits can be presented by the user to the multi-digit sensor. Then a completion stroke can be identified as being made with the number of additional digits. A user interface signal to can be sent to the computing application based on the number of additional digits used in the completion touch stroke. In another configuration of the technology, the touch stroke or gesture may include a single stroke where user interface items can be selected when additional digits are presented at the end of a gesture.

  • Patent number: 10013406
Abstract: A container is created that includes two sides. A front side of the container displays viewable content. A back side of the container displays editing controls corresponding to the viewable content. A button may be displayed that, when activated, switches the display between the front side and the back side. The button may be displayed only while the editing controls are displayed and hidden while the content is displayed. While the content is displayed, the entire display area may be responsive to a user input to cause display of the editing controls. Switching between the front-side element display and the back-side editing display may be accompanied by a flipping animation. Enabling the flip-to-edit container may be based on permissions of a user account.

  • Patent number: 9998781
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method plays, on an interface, a media program in a media player operating in a first mode. A position change of the media player on the interface is determined while the media program is being played in the media player to cause the media player to move to an out of bounds position. The method detects the media player moving to the out of bounds position and upon detecting, automatically performs switching from the first mode to a second mode based on the media player moving to the out of bounds position where the second mode restricts movement of the media player. Also, the method transfers the media player to a new position that is not in the out of bounds position where the media player continues to play the media program in the new position.

  • Patent number: 9983766
Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems and methods providing a flip-though format for viewing notification of messages and related items on devices, for example personal mobile devices such as smart phones. According to an embodiment, an unread item most recently received is shown in full screen on the mobile device. While the user is viewing this item, the device will automatically retrieve and load into a cache memory, the next most recently received item. When the user is done viewing the item most recently received, the user can swipe a finger across the touch screen to trigger a page flipping animation and display of the next most recently received item. Embodiments avoid the user having to click back and forth between a list of notifications/links and corresponding notification items.

  • Patent number: 9983854
Abstract: Several methods are described herein to allow users to manage and synchronize views in a multi-user application with canvas (infinite or otherwise) and limited or unlimited zoom. Without these synchronization methods, coordinating views is very difficult, and may lead to chaos as one or more of the users gets lost on the canvas. A “View Sync” method provides for many-to-one synchronization, where many users are automatically synchronized with one user. A “Sync View” method provides for one-to-one synchronization, where one user is synchronized to another user's view. Preferably, off-screen “activity indicators” also are used within the viewport to provide visual cues regarding where other users are drawing or creating content on the canvas. Tapping on an activity indicator preferably performs one-time Sync View with the selected other user.

  • Patent number: 9958843
Abstract: A management system has a topology display screen of a management target system with an area, where icons of system components are typically displayed in the related art, which is embedded and displayed with a graph of a monitor value of the system component. A band having a predetermined width is displayed to show a relation between system display objects indicating the system components. The width of the band is determined by the number of requests which are transmitted or received by the system components. When a time-sequential graph of the monitor value of a system component is displayed, a vertical bar which can be operated by an input/output device is displayed in the graph. When the operation of the vertical bar is detected, an icon indicating integrity of the management target system at a time indicated by the vertical bar is displayed in the vicinity of the vertical bar.

  • Patent number: 9940005
Abstract: A link curvature processing module enables a user with the ability to control the curvature of links in a node-link diagram. As a node-link diagram is displayed to a user, the user may interact with the diagram and adjust the curvature of one or more links in the diagram to improve the readability of the diagram. The user's modification to the curvature of a link alters the shape of the link so that the position of the nodes connected to the link does not change. By providing the user with such control, the user is able to tailor the visual display of the links to the user's preference.
