  • Patent number: 5209707
Abstract: A planetary differential assembly is disclosed. The planetary differential assembly can spit driving torque generated by an engine of a vehicle (which uses the assembly) into two parts at an appropriate ratio to realize an optimum driving condition of the vehicle in traveling even when one of driving wheels of the vehicle loses traction on a bad-condition road. The above appropriate splitting of the driving torque is accomplished by applying a braking torque to each of component gears of a planetary gear set of the assembly. Such braking torque is produced: by reducing at least one of backlashes between these component gears to a possible minimum amount; and/or by roughing an outer peripheral surface of each of pins on which the components gears are rotatably supported, respectively; and/or by roughing an inner peripheral surface of each of central through-holes of the component gears, through which surface each of the gears is brought into a slidable contact with each of the pins.

  • Patent number: 5189930
Abstract: A power transmitting system for a vehicle includes an input shaft, left and right output shafts, a speed reduction mechanism for transmitting a driving force from the input shaft to the output shafts, a left hydraulic clutch disposed between the speed reduction mechanism and the left output shaft for transmitting the driving force, a right hydraulic clutch disposed between the speed reduction mechanism and the right output shaft, and an oil pump for supplying a hydraulic pressure to the left and right clutches. The left and right hydraulic clutches being disposed in the speed reduction mechanism, and the input shaft constitutes a primary element of the oil pump. A compact power transmitting system can be obtained in accordance with the invention.

  • Patent number: 5138900
Abstract: An adjustable and lockable handlebar stem includes a post to be clamped in a forward frame tube of a bicycle, one upper arm and one lower arm pivotably supported at first bearing points on the post, and a handlebar mounting member with a through hole for accommodating a handlebar. The handlebar mounting member is pivotably supported by the two arms at second bearing points. The arms can be locked together, for example by means of a stud in a slide groove. Due to unequal distances between the first bearing points and the second bearing points, there is achieved an ergonometrically favorable rotation of the handlebar itself when the position of the complete mechanically movable unit is changed.

  • Patent number: 5129282
Abstract: A mechanism for adjusting the height of a farm implement/tool of the type to be carried by a drawing vehicle includes a connector for supporting a farm implement/tool in an operative position. A guide directs sliding movement of the connector selectively between first and second positions corresponding to raised and lowered positions for a farm implement/tool which is carried by the connector. A mount connects the guide to one of a drawing vehicle and a support to be carried by a drawing vehicle. A lock fastens the connector in one of the first and second positions and selectively releases the connection to allow the connection to be slid into the other of the first and second positions therefor.
