Abstract: Systems and methods of establishing group calls are provided. Contact index information is synchronized between a communication unit and a contact synchronization server. A group call request message, including index information for one or more contacts, is sent from a communication unit to a signaling server. The signaling server uses the index information to obtain communication unit addresses from the contact synchronization server.

Abstract: A method is presented of providing voice communication, including receiving at a set-top box device a selection of a first contact, receiving data indicating that a first call has been placed to a phone associated with the first contact, and sending data to a display device coupled to the set-top box device indicating that the first call has been placed to the phone associated with the first contact. The method may further include sending data identifying the first contact and the user phone to a communication server of an Internet Protocol Television system, wherein the communication server places the first call to the phone associated with the first contact and routes the first call to the user phone.

Abstract: In a call center, a plurality of agents comprises at least a first group associated with a first skill and a second group associated with a second skill. The second group may have a substantially larger number of agents than the first group, and accordingly the first and second groups may be referred to as small and large groups, respectively, and the first and second skills may be referred to as small and large skills, respectively. In one embodiment, if a service level target for the small skill is being met, and a number of available agents in the small group exceeds a specified minimum available agent requirement, at least one of the available agents in the small group is selected and designated as eligible for handling a communication involving the large skill, without assigning that agent to the large group or removing that agent from the small group.

Abstract: A system and method are disclosed for intelligent formatting of VoIP telephone numbers. The intelligent VoIP formatting system includes a presentation and user interface layer, an E.164 formatting engine, a location routine, and a database of telephone number data which are used to deconstruct input telephone numbers and reconstruct them as E.164 compliant telephone numbers.

Abstract: A system, method and computer program product are provided for providing access to a plurality of service providers. In use, information associated with a customer is received. In addition, a plurality of service providers are identified, based on the information. Further, a single interface is presented for providing access to the plurality of service providers.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for implementing a split numbering plan area code in an IMS network. The IMS network comprises a subscriber server adapted to store a new phone number including a new area code for a subscriber assigned as a result of the split numbering plan area code. The IMS network further comprises a call control system coupled to the subscriber server adapted to register user equipment of the subscriber assigned the new phone number with the subscriber server. The call control system is further adapted to associate an old phone number of the subscriber used prior to the split numbering plan area code with the new phone number in an implicit registration set. The call control system is further adapted to receive a call for the old phone number and identify the new phone number associated with the old phone number in the implicit registration set and to deliver the call to the user equipment.

Abstract: A telephony system (100) includes a user device (110, 130) configured to enable a user of the telephony system (100) to place and receive telephone calls, and a service node (180, 185) configured to communicate with the user device (110, 130) and to thereby provide the user with an automated voice interface to the telephony system (100) upon the user's initiating access to the telephony system (100) via the user device (110, 130). The automated voice interface permits the user to verbally specify a desired objective corresponding to any one of a number of predefined objectives, the predefined objectives including directory assisted call placement and at least one form of information retrieval. Upon receiving the desired objective from the user, the service node (180, 185) acts to implement the desired objective.
