Abstract: Article for dispensing liquid bleach-softener composition in one or more of the wash, rinse and tumble dry cycles of a fabric laundering process comprising a flexible, form retaining, open cell porous foam substrate, preferably polyurethane, impregnated with a liquid composition containing an effective bleaching and softening amount of water soluble peroxy bleaching agent and water soluble softener, at least 50% by weight of the softener being cationic imide of the imidazolinium or pyridinium type in a weight ratio of softener to bleach of about 5:7 to 5:1.
Abstract: A free flowing particulate fabric softening composition includes base beads, of a water soluble or water insoluble builder for a synthetic organic detergent, impregnated with a fabric softening agent. For example, the base beads may be of a mixture of a zeolite softener (usually a hydrated sodium aluminosilicate), sodium bicarbonate and sodium silicate and the softening agent may be a quaternary ammonium compound, such as distearyl dimethyl ammonium methyl sulfate, with at least 80% and preferably more of the softener being within the original peripheries of the base beads. Also within the invention are softener-detergent compositions which incorporate the described particulate softening composition, a method of using the softening composition in conjunction with a synthetic organic detergent to wash and soften laundry fabrics and a method for the manufacture of the particulate softening compositions.

Abstract: A yarn finish composition is disclosed for incorporation with synthetic organic polymer yarn or yarn products to render the same oil repellent and resistant to soiling. The composition comprises (a) a nonhomogeneous mixture of a salt of dinonyl sulfosuccinate, a salt of dimethyl naphthalene sulfonate, and ammonium perfluoroalkyl carboxylate, and (b) a fluorochemical compound consisting of polycarboxybenzene esterified with certain partially fluorinated alcohols and with hydroxyl-containing organic radicals such as 2-hydroxyethyl, glyceryl, and chlorohydryl or bromohydryl.
Abstract: A yarn finish composition is disclosed for incorporation with synthetic organic polymer yarn or yarn products to render the same oil repellent and resistant to soiling. The composition comprises (a) a solution of a salt of dioctyl sulfosuccinate, propylene glycol and water, and (b) a fluorochemical compound consisting of polycarboxybenzene esterified with certain partially fluorinated alcohols and with hydroxyl-containing organic radicals such as 2-hydroxyethyl, glyceryl, and chlorohydryl or bromohydryl.
Abstract: An apparatus, and method, for producing finger and thumb holes in one bowling ball which are identic to those existing in another bowling ball; the essential purpose being to duplicate--in a new bowling ball, for example--the exact size, shape, direction, and span of the finger and thumb holes in an existing, properly hand-fitting, bowling ball.
Abstract: A finish composition for polyamide yarn which comprises an oil in water emulsion and an effective amount of 2[(hydroxymethyl)amino]ethanol biocide resists bacteria growth and causes the treated yarn to resist yellowing under steam heat treatment. The oil in water emulsion and biocide most preferably form, respectively, 99.9 percent and 0.1 percent by weight of the finish composition. The preferred oil in water emulsion is about 10 to 20 percent by weight of the oil portion, the oil portion consisting essentially of from about 55 to 65 percent by weight of coconut oil, about 20 to 35 percent by weight of polyoxyethylene hydrogenated castor oil, and about 7 to 15 percent by weight of potassium salt of polyoxyethylene tridecyl phosphate. The finish composition is especially useful for application to polyamide yarn to be processed into either staple carpet yarn or bulked continuous filament carpet yarn.
Abstract: Cookie dough in a dough hopper is extruded through a die by means of a pair of dough rolls, and the extruded dough is separated into a plurality of cookie-shaped deposits employing a cutoff wire reciprocated beneath the die. After each movement of the cutoff wire, a conveyor carrying a tray moves a short distance for spacing the dough deposits on the tray. The dough rolls are operated independently from the cutoff wire and conveyor so that a variable quantity of dough can be extruded for each deposit, and a time delay is provided for operation of the cutoff wire such that a sufficient quantity of dough is extruded before initial severing of the dough.
Abstract: Several spin finishes are disclosed for incorporation with synthetic organic polymer yarn or yarn products to render the same oil repellent and resistant to soiling. All of the spin finishes include a yarn finish composition which comprises (a) a nonhomogeneous mixture of a salt of dinonyl sulfosuccinate, a salt of dimethyl naphthalene sulfonate, and ammonium perfluoroalkyl carboxylate, and (b) a fluorochemical compound consisting of polycarboxybenzene esterified with certain partially fluorinated alcohols and with hydroxy-containing organic radicals such as 2-hydroxyethyl, glyceryl, and chlorohydryl or bromohydryl.
Abstract: A rim shield is disclosed for use in conjunction with a porous mold in molding ceramic articles using a slip casting process. Use of the rim shield prevents the deposit of excess clay to the lip or rim of a molded article.
Abstract: The invention relates to aqueous copolymer dispersions containing high proportions of vinyl chloride units in the copolymer, together with vinyl acetate units and ethylene units, which dispersions contain only polyvinyl alcohol as protective colloid; as well as to their manufacture and to their use.

Abstract: A combination die and pallet assembly upon which mortarless interlocking cementitious blocks of the type having a plurality of cast male projections thereon, includes a die and pallet plate of solid heavy gage metal with a predetermined array of frustro-conical apertures formed therethrough, and a solid heavy gage metal backing plate removably disposed in contiguous engagement with the bottom surface of the die and pallet plate.
Abstract: This fishing bait caster enables a fisherman, using a spinning rod and reel, to cast his line fifty feet, without having lead weights attached, and it consists primarily of a ball of ice, which has, frozen therein, a rubber band for attachment to a snap-swivel. The ball of ice, when cast out into the water, first acts as a bobber, and, in a short period of time, melts, thus allowing the bait to settle to the bottom naturally, which will enable a fisherman to catch more fish, get more fight from the fish, and lose less hooks.
Abstract: A beam clamp for securing a concrete form in forming beams, lintels, etc. having a pair of spaced apart legs secured together by a cross bar that permits one leg to pivot toward and away from the other leg and a pivoted lever operating as a cam for pivoting the first leg when mounting and dismantling the beam clamp from a form after the concrete has been poured and set.
Abstract: A form having a selectively adjustable curvilinear surface is provided by securing a flexible connection plate to the rear side of a flexible form panel and clamping the plate to a rigid waler to lock the panel in the desired curvilinear configuration. The connection plate is of angle-shaped cross-sectional configuration with a first flexible leg portion secured in parallel relationship to the flexible panel and a second leg portion disposed in normal relationship to the first portion. The second portion is excised at spaced intervals to accommodate flexing of the first portion and selectively clamped to the rigid waler to lock the first portion against flexing.
Abstract: Detergent-compatible antistatic compositions are described comprising stable agglomerates of water-soluble neutral or alkaline salts, prills of quaternary ammonium compounds intimately mixed with organic dispersion inhibitors, and water, and being substantially free of conventional organic agglomerating agents. These compositions provide static control benefits in laundering operations at reduced antistatic agent levels.
