Abstract: A fraud prevention system that includes a client server and a fraud prevention server. The fraud prevention server includes an electronic processor and a memory. The memory includes an online application origination (OAO) service. When executing the OAO service, the electronic processor is configured to determine a fraud score of an online application based on an online application origination (OAO) model that differentiates between a behavior of a normal user and a behavior of a nefarious actor during a submission of the online application on a device, and control the client server to approve, hold, or deny the online application based on the fraud score that is determined.

  • Patent number: 12328393
Abstract: Systems and methods of the present disclosure enable virtual tokens for dynamically mapping virtual account numbers to actual accounts. The systems and methods include receiving an electronic data modification instruction of a virtual record modification to cause at least one data modification to at least one attribute of a virtual record data structure associated with the actual account. A user record associated with the virtual record is determined, and a record modification preference associated with the user record is determined based on the modification condition. An authorization instruction is generated to authorize the electronic data modification instruction to cause the modification by instructing at least one database management system to modify the user record according to the record-specific modification.

  • Patent number: 12293362
Abstract: Recommendations of one or more authorizing components are provided to issuers and/or merchants for enhancing approval rates of payment processing requests. A server system receives a payment authorization request for a payment transaction between a cardholder and a merchant in real time. Payment transaction features associated with the payment transaction are identified based on the payment authorization request. A combination of one or more authorizing components to be applied to the payment transaction is predicted to obtain a product recommendation strategy for the payment transaction. The combination of one or more authorizing components is predicted based on a trained machine learning model and the payment transaction features. The payment authorization request and the product recommendation strategy are transmitted to an issuer associated with the cardholder.

  • Patent number: 12211050
Abstract: There are provided systems and methods for canary card identifiers for real-time usage alerts. A user associated with an organization, such as an employee of a company, are provided a payment instrument or card affiliated with that company to make one or more purchases. In order to prevent or limit fraud, as well as detect fraudulent actors, the organization utilizes multiple card identifiers and/or payment cards, where a portion of those identifiers are valid, and another portion are not valid but marked for generation of one or more alerts on use of that portion of identifiers. A monitoring and alert system resides on top of an electronic transaction processing network to detect use of the marked identifiers. If detected, a real-time alert is then transmitted to the organization with data associated with the use of the marked identifiers.

  • Patent number: 12141807
Abstract: The system and method may assess the merchant risk level on a more continuous scale rather than a binary categorization. It may produce a continuous risk score proportional to the likelihood of a merchant being risky, effectively addressing the issue of shades of gray encountered by the traditional blacklisting approach. The continuous risk score feature provides greater flexibility as it allows the payment network to make dynamic pricing decisions (known as interchange optimization) based on the merchant risk level. Using collective intelligence from transactions across the payment network, the system and method may be able to assess the merchant risk level with high accuracy. The system and method may be particularly beneficial to small merchants with low transaction volume as even a few fraudulent transactions can easily put them in the high-risk merchant category. Further, the system and method may help payment processing networks make better decision on cross-border transactions.

The service engine may intelligently determine which queries to present based on responses to preceding queries. The service engine may then compare the entries in response to the queries against stored rules for a one or more of a plurality of tax jurisdictions, the stored rules being about establishing nexus for purposes of remitting transaction tax in the certain tax jurisdiction. The service engine may then determine information regarding potential lack of tax compliance of the querying entity based on the comparison, and notify accordingly.
