The jackpot tickets provide chances for a winner of a bingo game played with the bingo cards to be eligible for a jackpot award. The jackpot tickets (12) each include a set of jackpot numbers (28) selected from the same pool as the bingo numbers (27). These are compared with the bingo numbers on the winning bingo card to determine whether the winning card is eligible for a jackpot award.

One or more prizes are awarded in association with the selection and removal of the matching adjacent game pieces 34. Preferably, the player is also provided with the ability to shuffle any remaining non-selected game pieces 32, after all matching adjacent game pieces that are perceived by the player are selected and removed. In this regard, it is possible that the player may overlook some matching adjacent game pieces 34. Additionally, some preferred embodiment gaming machines incorporate the use of multiple indicia 16 on each game piece 12 for potentially matching with adjacent game pieces.

Search objects are mixed with the fill material. Sometimes the search objects are covered by the fill material, at other times they are not. Cover structures are provided. The cover structures selectively cover the openings in the game board. To play the game, a player selects a search object. A player also selects a cover structure. The cover structure selected by the player is removed and the player looks through the exposed opening for the selected search object. The game is won when a predetermined number of search objects are found by a single player.
