Abstract: The device for paper guidance in printing facilities comprising a paper tractor that transports continuous form paper comprises a plurality of paper guide elements displaceably arranged on a transport shaft dependent on the width of the paper. Compression springs that are supported on the paper guide elements are arranged between the paper guide elements. The hollow-cylindrically fashioned paper guide elements are interrupted in denticular fashion at their surface areas, whereby the respectively neighboring toothings of the paper guide elements displaceably mesh via their teeth in order to thus form a variable-width paper guide cylinder.
Abstract: Transfer drum for printing presses through which a sheet to be imprinted passes, includes a shaft, a first and second row of sheet-supporting segments disposed in comb-like fashion along the periphery of the drum, devices for gripping, respectively, the trailing and leading edges of a sheet, one of the rows of segments being rotatably mounted on the shaft together with one of the gripping devices, and the other of the rows of segments being fixedly mounted on the shaft together with other of the gripping devices, the rows of segments being rotatable relative to one another, each of the gripping devices extending rigidly over the entire width of the drum and being secured to the respective row of segments in channels formed in the drum.
Abstract: A weight arrestor for attachment to downriggers; the weight arrestor has an elongated coiled spring surrounding a downrigger cable. The spring radially flexes under stress exerted by the cable and slides up and down on the cable. The spring is adjustably coupled to a fastener. A cord is desirably fastened to both the spring and fastener. The fastener automatically secures the cord when tension is on the cord. The fastener is pivotally mounted onto a downrigger.
Abstract: A ribbon cartridge for typewriters having a plurality of type bars which have the respective type fonts or characters at the top portions thereof and which are struck toward a printing point on a platen during the printing operation. The ribbon cartridge includes a pair of housings made of plastic material and a connecting arm member made of a metal strip for interconnecting the two housings. The connecting arm member has its center portion positioned in front of a type bar guide (on the side of the typist) and is formed substantially into a U-shaped opening as seen from the front side of the typewriter in order to permit the printing operation of the respective type bars. A spool for winding the printing ribbon is rotatably mounted in each housing, the spool being operatively connected in the usual manner to an ordinary ribbon drive means which is provided on the typewriter. Each one of the housings is provided with an aperture or slot to allow passage therethrough of the printing ribbon.
