  • Electro-mechanical shower oscillator for papermaking machine

    Abstract: An electro-mechanical oscillator has a DC motor with an output shaft coupled to a ball screw. A ball nut riding on the ball screw is coupled to an output sleeve which moves linearly with the ball nut. When the ball nut reaches one of two extreme positions its direction of movement is reversed by reversing the polarity of the voltage supplied to the motor. A control board is provided for monitoring the position of the ball nut, for reversing the motor and for controlling the speed of the motion.
